“Rooster and I are buying this for you, Sweetheart. This is part of our gift to you and I don’t want to hear any argument about it,” she says, her voice gentle with a hard edge because she’s expecting me to argue with her.
On a laugh, I hold my hands in the air and take a step back as the employee runs her card and puts my dress in a black bag before zipping it up so no one can see it. After buying the dress, I sit down and watch as Melissa and Kimber try on bridesmaids dresses. The sales lady pulled a few different styles in two shades of blue and silver from the back while I was trying on wedding gowns. Marie and I give our honest feedback with each dress they come out in and thankfully their thoughts mirror our own. We finally decide on a dark blue dress for Melissa and a dark silver one for Kimber. They’re both strapless and flare out from their waist down to the floor. they’re not too long because we’ll all be wearing flip flops on my wedding day. If there’s one thing I want, it’s for all of us to be comfortable and not trying to walk in heels over the yard of the clubhouse. Yes, we’re getting married at the clubhouse because I know it would mean a lot to Omen to be married where his parents were and some place he grew up. I love the backyard of the clubhouse and know it will be perfect for us.
The four of us made a day of it when we went out to find my wedding dress. After getting the dresses, we went to get our nails done and then out for lunch and they got me to laugh and open up so I wasn’t thinking about missing my parents and uncle the rest of the day. Marie tells us one story after another about Omen growing up and all the trouble he got into over the years. Yes, he was always there for her and felt he needed to step up in his dad’s absence, but he was also a typical boy. Getting hurt while playing, going out and causing havoc, going through girls one after another, and everything else your typical teenage boy does as they grow up and get through high school. I can imagine him doing all the things Marie told us about as we stayed longer than normal at a table in a small restaurant. It ended up being the perfect day and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Waking up, I stretchmy body and slowly open my eyes to find myself in our bed at home all alone. Well, not alone. Melissa is in bed with me as I turn my head and look at my best friend as she continues to sleep. Last night Omen stayed at the clubhouse to have his ‘last night of freedom’ with the guys while Kimber, Marie, Melissa, and CeCe came to my house to spend the evening with me. We watched movies, talked, and the girls drank while Melissa and I remained sober because we’re both nursing. I went to bed early as the girls continued to drink for a little while because I knew I’d be up with my daughter. Melissa didn’t stay up as long as the other three because she was also getting up to nurse Sam throughout the night. The rest of the kids are with a babysitter at Marie and Rooster’s house and they’re being guarded by Prospects so nothing happens to them.
Getting up, I check on Amanda before making my way to the bathroom to shower and start getting ready for the day. My aunt should be here soon. Omen and Homicide will head to the airport to get her and bring her back to the compound while the rest of the guys decorate the yard of the clubhouse for the ceremony and reception. After taking care of my business and showering quickly, I put on a robe, my bra, and panties. Melissa hung the robe on the back of the bathroom door last night while I made sure what I’d be wearing under my dress was put in there early this morning when I last fed Amanda. It’s a new set and one I can’t wait for Omen to see.
By the time I’m done in the bathroom, Melissa is awake and ready to head into the bathroom. I let her know I’ll get breakfast started so we can eat before we spend hours getting our hair and make-up done. Walking into our kitchen, Marie is already standing at the stove with CeCe and Kimber nowhere to be found.
“Where are the girls?” I ask Marie, grabbing a coffee mug from the cupboard and pouring myself a cup of decaf that Marie already made.
“Kimber went home to shower and grab what she needs to do your make-up. I’ve got my bag here to do your hair before you get dressed in your gown. Your aunt should be here soon. Breakfast is already made and in the oven to remain hot for you girls. I’ve already showered and am ready when you are to get this show on the road,” Marie informs me as she turns to smile at me warmly.
“Good. Thank you for everything, Marie. You’ve made this entire process so much easier to handle,” I tell her honestly with tears filling my eyes.
“Sweetheart, you’re family. I’ll always be there for you no matter what you need,” she says, walking over and pulling me into a hug.
When we part, I sit down and dig into the eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast she made us. Marie gets me a glass of orange juice to drink as I stuff myself with the food knowing I don’t have much time before my daughter wakes up again and will need to be fed, bathed, and gotten ready for the day. Nerves fill me as I take my dishes to the sink and rinse them off to put in the dishwasher. Today is the day my life with Omen truly begins as we celebrate with our family.

I’m standing in theback of the clubhouse with my aunt as everyone prepares for me to walk down the makeshift aisle to Omen. Kimber and Melissa have just walked out as I turn to look at my aunt.
“I love you so much, Oaklynn. Your parents and uncle are looking down on you today and would be so proud of the woman you’ve grown up to be. They’ll always be with you even if you can’t see them and will continue to guide you down the right path,” my aunt says, both of our eyes filling with tears that I desperately try to hold back so they don’t ruin my make-up.
“Thank you, Aunt Maggie. I love you so much. I know they’re always here with me and are watching over my family. I’d just rather have them here with me today of all days,” I tell her honestly as we listen to the music change.
Yoursby Russell Dickerson comes on as the door is opened by one of the Prospects and my aunt walks me out of the clubhouse. My eyes search for Omen as he stands at the end of the aisle with his eyes glued to me and Amanda in his arms. He’s wearing a dark blue button-down shirt under his cut with new jeans and a pair of boots. I didn’t want him to dress up in something he’d be uncomfortable in for the day. Seeing our daughter in his arms only makes me fall even more in love with him. She looks so small snuggled up against his large chest as he slowly rocks back and forth.
“Slow down, Sweet Pea,” my aunt says, laughter filling her voice.
With determined effort, I slow my steps and look at everyone standing up and waiting for me. Homicide and Brick stand up with Omen while Rooster and Marie are in the first row. They’re holding the twins and Sam while Brick and Kimber’s kids are next to them with CeCe. Amanda, the twins, and Sam are in the wedding. Brick and Kimber’s kids pulled them down the aisle in wagons. Delilah was in the front one with my daughter as she held her close while throwing flowers on the aisle. Zeke held his baby brother in their wagon as they carried the rings for our ceremony. I wish I would’ve been able to see them make their way down the aisle. Hopefully someone got it on video.
By the time I get to the front, Omen has already stepped forward. He hands Amanda to my aunt who takes a seat across the aisle from Rooster and Marie. Amanda snuggles in my aunt Maggie’s chest as Omen takes my hand and we turn to face Carbon. He got ordained for today’s ceremony because Rooster didn’t want to be the one to marry us. Instead, he wanted to watch his son get married from the front row with his wife at his side.
“You’re so fuckin’ beautiful, Baby Girl,” Omen whispers as he lifts my hand to his lips and presses a gentle kiss on my exposed skin before we give Carbon our full attention.
“Bikers and Bitches, we’re gathered here today to join these two souls together in holy matrimony,” Carbon begins our wedding ceremony as a small laugh escapes me and I watch Omen’s shoulders shake while he tries to hold his laughter back. “This is gonna be a quick ceremony because if it’s not, Omen threatened me before we made our way out here. So, we’re gonna get right into the vows. Omen, speak your peace.”
I turn to fully face my soon-to-be husband as he takes both of my hands in his. A small smile covers his face for the few lingering seconds he takes to look at me without saying a word.
“Oaklynn, I know our relationship didn’t start out the best. I’m a stubborn asshole who fought my feelings for you every second. However, one second in your presence and I knew you’d be my downfall and my savior. You chase away the dark when it threatens to overwhelm me and make it easier to breathe. You’ve given me the most beautiful baby girl and have given me more chances than I deserve. Baby Girl, you deserve so much better than me, but I’m selfish as fuck and I can’t let you go now. I promise to spend the rest of my days lovin’ you and provin’ to you that I’m worth the risk. To make as many memories as possible with you and ensure that you’re always safe, loved, and know your worth. I’ll be your strength on the days you have none and will never make you walk behind me. We’re a team and I will always support you. I love you, Oaklynn, and I will do my best to show you on a daily basis exactly how much,” Omen says as a lone tear spills over and slowly rolls down my face.
Omen reaches out and uses his thumb to wipe my tear away without letting go of my hand.
“Oaklynn, it’s your turn,” Carbon says, his voice gentle as he looks at me.
“Omen, the first time I saw you, I knew you’d change my entire world. I could see the walls you built up over the years and knew it would be a battle to rip them down. Still, I didn’t expect us to become a couple and see all the different sides of you. Amanda and I get a side of you no one else gets to see. And if they do, they’re lucky as fuck. You’re sweet, loving, kind, and think of the little things no one else would pay attention to. You bought me two kittens just because you overheard me mention one time that I wanted them. I know with you at my side, I won’t ever have to worry about the dangers of the world tearing me down until I can’t be put back together again. You’ll protect my heart, body, and soul with every fiber of your being. That protection will extend to our daughter and any other children we have in the future.
“Omen, you’re one of the best men I’ve ever met in my life and I know how lucky I am each day to wake up and spend it with you. My favorite time of day is when I wake up each morning with your strong arms holding me close. I love you, Omen. I will walk beside you, give you strength when you don’t have enough of yourself to give, and support everything you want in life. You’re my present and future and I can’t wait to make a million memories with you,” I say as another tear escapes and Omen wipes it away again.
Carbon goes through the rest of the ceremony and Zeke steps forward to hand over our rings when it’s time. We repeat after Carbon as we exchange our rings and I can’t take my eyes off the man standing in front of me.
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Omen, you may kiss your bride. Remember to keep it PG-13 because we have kids here with us today,” Carbon says as our family laughs at his words while Omen pulls me in close to his body.
