My knowledge of Louisiana’s affair with Nova made me just as culpable because I helped to deceive Jinx, while laughing and joking with her every time I saw her.

“Jinx, babe, I don’t know why this girl sent that photo. I didn’t even give her my number. She must’ve had one of those magnetic readers and stole my information.”

I squinted.

“They have those?” Jinx asked suspiciously. “I thought it was only for bank cards.”

Louisiana shook his head. “Some people store credit card information on their phones and a bunch of other personal shit that magnets suck into the readers. Suddenly, all your information is in fucked up hands. Including phone numbers and email addresses.” He looked at me. “Tell her, Reese.”

Predictably, Jinx turned her hopeful eyes toward me. I wanted to bash Louisiana’s fucking head in for putting me on thespot. Unable to meet her eyes, I focused on my beer and gave her a curt nod.

“I just love you so much, Keir,” she said quietly. “After I cut your cock off, I would be devastated if you ever cheated on me. You’re one of the good guys, babe.”

“That’s why you love me, babe.” He reached across the bar and grabbed her arm. “When you got me, you got the best of the best. I’m not a typical motherfucker with an ol’ lady and a bunch of bitches on the side. That Nova cunt? Fuck her.”

“Reese? Louisiana?”

At the sound of one of the prospects calling my name, I swiveled in my chair. “Yo?” I said as Louisiana turned, too.

“Two chicks are asking for you. A girl named Ainsley for you.” He nodded to me. “And a Nova for Louisiana.”

To say all hell broke loose was the fucking understatement of the century. I couldn’t wrap my head around Ainsley being at the clubhouse because Jinx launched herself over the bar top, punched the fuck out of Louisiana, and jetted outside.

I didn’t want her to fuck up the wrong girl, so I left Louisiana on the fucking floor and ran after Jinx. She might’ve seen a nudie of Nova, but I’m not certain she’d have the presence of mind to take in her features.

Outside, Jinx skidded to a halt and glanced between Nova and Ainsley. “Nova?” she snarled.

Tossing her hair, Nova smirked. “No wonder he doesn’t wantyou—”

Jinx’s punch to Nova’s mouth cut her off. Nova reeled back, but came up swinging, barely missing Ainsley. If she hadn’t held up her hands and ducked, she would’ve gotten the punch meant for Jinx.

Over my fucking shock, I rushed to Ainsley and yanked her away from the other two as they circled each other, throwing punches and insults. Placing myself in front of Ainsley, I grabbed the girl closest to me, which just happened to be Nova.

“Let go of me!” she snarled, struggling in my arms.

“Calm the fuck down,” I ordered.

Louisiana entered the melee. Jinx’s fist careened toward him but he caught her arm and trapped her against him. “Enough, Jinx! Enough. I’m not putting up with your jealous bullshit.”

“Fuck you. You’re a liar and a cheating asshole.” She began struggling again. “Let go of me.”

My deceptive composure amazed me. I was so aware of Ainsley that my skin prickled and my body reawakened for the first time in weeks. “I need to talk to Ainsley. Stay away from Louisiana and his woman. Understand me?”

She heaved in a breath. “I’m his woman. He told me so.”

Fuck, I didn’t give a fuck. While I felt sorry for how pitiful she sounded, she wasn’t my top priority. I didn’t even know her. I just knewofher.

Louisiana threw Jinx over his shoulder, ignoring her furious screams and ineffective punches. He pointed at Nova. “Get the fuck off my club’s property, cunt. Don’t ever show your fucking face again.”

“Hey!” Ainsley peeped from behind me. “You’re an asshole.”

“Stay out of it, Ainsley!” I gritted.

She glared at me, but watched Louisiana carry Jinx away without another word.

“Wait!” Nova called. “Wait, Lou Lou. Where are you going?”

His look promised murder.
