“I haven’t even thought about you.” I decide not to give him what he needs. Zayne isn’t going to be able to give me what I want either, so I will just take the option off the table right now. That doesn’t mean that I’m not going to finish what we’ve started here. As far as I’ve been concerned, my heart has been with Zayne Forest for most of my life. One last roll with him might be exactly what I need to let him go once and forever.

I see the change in his eyes as soon as I lie to him. He has always been reactive when provoked and I have always been the one to poke at him. His anger takes over, sending him driving in and out of me relentlessly, no doubt trying to break me. What he doesn’t know is that he broke me years ago.

His grip on my hips will bruise me and he keeps slowing down right before I go over the cliff of release. I’m sure he’s purposely doing it to piss me off, but I’m not one to be played with anymore. I lift my shirt over my head and lift my lace bra so that my tits bounce between us. He sees my piercings and slows once again.

“You still have them.” Of course I still have them. He pierced me four years ago, the first night we were together. I would never let them close up because they remind me of him every time I notice them.

I slide my hands down my chest and over my nipples before I continue lower to reach between my legs. He watches my fingers closely, drunk on the desire to touch me too. If he’s not going to let me finish, I will do it myself. He can watch.

I slide my finger over my clit and rotate my index finger in a circle, over and over until I’m climbing high again. He finally resumes thrusting and it takes every single thing in me to keep my eyes open so I can watch the intensity in his eyes. He wants me as much as I want him… at least in this moment.

Finally, he lets me orgasm to the most glorious high of highs. He grunts and moans until I feel the heat of his cum releasing inside me. “Fuck, baby.” His voice is deeper than it used to be and damn if it’s not the sexiest voice I’ve ever heard.

We’re both still trying to catch our breaths when he sets me down on my own two feet. It’s in this moment that I see why he felt bigger. His cock is now pierced and even though my curiosity is very peaked, I refuse to give him extra attention because I know what’s coming. I just need to beat him to the punch.

We’re both pulling up our pants when the sound of a car nearby pushes us to move faster. He waits until the car passes before he begins. “Charli…” I stop him before he has a chance to say something stupid.

“Zayne. I have a boyfriend and I’m not trying to make this something it’s not.” He doesn’t need to know the boyfriend I have is a dumb Tinder hookup from two weeks ago that has been lingering around. I haven’t had a reason to boot him to the curb yet, but we’re far from serious. We’re not even official and still see other people.

“No you don’t.” He looks like I slapped him across the face with the news of my boyfriend.

“Yeah. I do.”

“Lose him today, Charli… or lose him forever. You decide. I’m not one to fuck with.” He threatens me, pissing me off even more than he did chasing me down earlier.

“No Zayne. You don’t get to do that.” I’ve never been one to let anyone boss me around. I’m not sure if he forgot how I was before but I have new bold confidence that he’s about to witness for the first time.

“Charli. I didn’t come back here to watch you bouncing on some fuckin’ boy toy.” He points at me before he slides his hands through his hair in frustration.

“Okay. You want to go there, let’s do this. Why did you come back, Zayne… wait let’s start at the beginning. Why did you fucking leave on the first place, Zayne. Why did you leave without a single goodbye or even a simple ‘see you later’? Why did you go silent for four fucking years, Zayne?” I’m screaming before I finish and I hate that he has taken me so many directions in such a short time of him coming back.

He looks toward the lake and stares into the horizon for a few seconds before he answers. “I can’t tell you right now.” He then looks down at the ground, I’m sure knowing that response isn’t going to work with me.

“Then you have no say in what or who I do. You do not get to come back here and pretend to care.” I turn to walk away and he grabs my arm to spin me back around to face him. We stare into each other’s eyes a few seconds before I yank my arm from his grasp and stomp away.

“Lose the fucking boyfriend, Charli.” He yells at me before I get back to my truck.

“Fuck off, Zayne.” Without even looking back at him, I flip him off and open the driver’s door to climb my ass back in my truck, not any happier than when I stopped it to begin with. The engine roars to life and even though my heart is racing pissed off at Zayne, I can’t help but find a little comfort in the fact that it bothers Zayne that I might have a boyfriend.

My phone lights up with a line of missed calls and notifications from Theo.

Theo: I need you to pick up the alcohol. It’s at the old barn behind the clubhouse. The guys know you’re coming and will help load. They’re waiting on you now.

Theo: Where are you?

Theo: Why is all of your shit gone?

Theo: I’m assuming your phone is dead? I’m looking at your location and it looks like you’re broke down. I’m on my way to help.

Message sent 5 minutes ago. “Crap.” I turn to go back down the road the way we came knowing that will be the way Theo will come. He is a protective brother and there’s no doubt that he’s almost here. The last thing I need right now is to have to deal with Theo seeing that Zayne and I were both stopped on the side of the road together.

I’m almost a mile down the road when I see his bike coming. I try to think of an excuse as to why I’m even on this road because he will be asking me. Theo stops his bike on the road, so I pull up next to him.

“What are you doing?” As if I should have to answer to him, he asks the question.

“Just driving around. I saw the old Miller place and wanted to see if it’s somewhere that we could start staying at in case you and your friends get us ran off from this one again.” Theo’s eyes are straight ahead, looking down the road behind me.

“I’ll buy the damn place by the end of the year. We won’t be banned from anything.” I look in the rearview and see Zayne pulling up to join the conversation. Fuck my life.
