I took his hand and brought his knuckles to my lips. “Don’t be mean to your sister.”

My phone rang and I saw the name on the dash screen. Our phones rang a lot. The majority of our calls were business related, but this one was personal.

I hit Answer. “Ah, Dominic,” I said. “We were just talking about you.”

“Oh?”

“Just that we should call you,” I added. “You’re on speaker, by the way. It’s just Marek and I in the car, and this traffic is dreadful.”

“Hello, darling,” Marek said.

“Good morning to you both.” He paused for a second. “I take it things with Ky went well? Fitch told me he called you. He was very worried.”

I smiled. “It went well, yes. And I appreciate Fitch calling us. It was the kick in the pants we needed.”

“Your Fitch is a tenacious one,” Marek said. “He had no qualms whatsoever in telling us what he thought.”

Dominic laughed. “Yes, tenacious indeed.” Then he paused again. “I just spoke to Fitch, actually. He told me he and Ky were at the unit.”

“Yes, we just dropped him off,” I said. “Dominic, is everything okay? If you have something to say in regard to Kylan?—”

“No, not at all,” he replied quickly. “It’s just that he... well, I guess you both and Ky sorted things out and Fitch mentioned that things were no longer tied to an NDA.”

I looked at Marek. “Yes, that’s correct. Why?”

Dominic sighed. “Well, Fitch decided that maybe it would be a good idea if we had a dinner. All of us. I don’t know if you know that Nolan’s boy Benji has a pretty big court appearance coming up, and Fitch thought it’d be nice to get together beforehand. And once Fitch decides something... well, that’s the end of that. Like you said, tenacious. Anyway, he said Ky has to be there and I needed to call you to, and I quote, ‘word you up.’”

I chuckled. “Are you inviting us to dinner, Dominic?”

“Yes. The three of you.”

Marek grinned at me. “Just tell us when and where.”

So our firstsocial outing with the three of us as a throuple was going to Dominic’s house four nights later.

It was a casual, low-key affair, but it was the perfect opportunity to test the waters.

To test how we’d navigate social settings and relationship dynamics. And these were Kylan’s two best friends, so he was safe and free to be himself.

So I was surprised when he came down from his room wearing jeans and a shirt.

“No skirt tonight?” I asked.

He trotted over to me and quickly put his arm aroundmy waist, his face into my chest. “No.” Then he looked up at me, eyes bright and cheeks pink, his lips with a hint of gloss. “I think I want to wear skirts here for you and daddy and no one else. I wore one at home yesterday and Fitch didn’t care. I was comfortable, but it wasn’t the same. When I wear a skirt for you and daddy, it’s special. You treat me special, and I want it to stay just for us. Is that okay?”

My heart grew another size, full to bursting. I leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “Of course it is. I like that it’s special, and I like that you only want to do it for us. But whatever you want, princess. You’re still our baby doll, no matter what you wear.”

He smiled so serenely. “I love you, daddy,” he whispered. Then he chewed on his bottom lip. “Well, I wore a skirt in the video I made yesterday.”

“You did, huh?”

He nodded, taking out his phone. “Wanna watch it, daddy?”

I laughed and stopped him. “Ah, no, not right now. If I watch that, we won’t be going to Dominic’s. Maybe we can save it for when we get home?”

Kylan grinned and nodded, even wiggling a little. “Yessss.”

“What are we saving for when we get home?” Marek asked as he came downstairs. He looked dashing in his charcoal trousers, purple button-down shirt, and grey waistcoat. His moustache was expertly shaped to neat little points, and he had a twinkle in his eye.
