And just like that, the crowd parts, and I make my way to join the guys on stage. I can’t help but be a little confused as I make my way towards the guys, unsure of what exactly they have planned.

I usually always just meet them by their merch booth to help with their sales after their shows, but this? This is new.

The closer I get, the smirks on Theo and Silas’s face become clearer, and my brother is looking at me as if I just found the answer to world peace. Eddie runs a hand through his hair, and I read the nerves on his face like words on my favorite book.

Something is up.

When I’m up on stage, Mateo brings me in for a hug, and I ignore the layer on sweat on his skin as I feel his arms tighten around me. “I love you,” he whispers in my ear. I hear the crowd’s cheers grow louder, and I have no idea why.

Maybe they are liking the cute brother-sister moment?

Before I can say it back and ask what the hell is going on, Mateo lets go of me and places his hands on my shoulders, turning me around to a sight that instantly knocks the wind out of me, tears forming in my eyes.

“What the actual hell is happening?” I exclaim when I see Eddie down on one knee. His smile is wide, my favorite Eddie smile that causes the skin surrounding his eyes to crinkle, making his green eyes shining brighter. In one hand, a pink ring box. In his other hand is the microphone Mateo must have handed to him when we were mid-hug.

“Hi, baby,” he says into his microphone, a slight crack of emotion in his voice. The crowd hoots and hollers before going completely silent. Eddie lets out an exhale, before bringing the mic back up to his mouth. “Mia, you coming into my life was a gift I didn’t think I deserved. The light that you have washed over me since the moment I saw you turn the corner in the hallway of your apartment building is something I will spend the rest of my life showing you I am deserving of.” I bring my hands to my mouth, tears streaming down my face. “You are the sunshine to my rainy day. I love you with everything I have.”

Eddie hands the microphone to Theo who is standing just behind him, the rest of his words being just for us. He opens the pink ring box to reveal a pear-shaped diamond that makes my tears stream even faster because my raindrop knows exactly how to make my heart feel like it is about to explode.

“Sunshine, will you marry me?”

I don’t even hesitate because I’ve known for months that this is the man I want to have by my side for the rest of my life. “Yes!” I exclaim through the tears, my head nodding up and down, not being able to believe this is happening.

Eddie takes the ring out of the box and slips onto my finger. The crowd goes wild, but I can only focus on us. He is off his knees, arms around me in less than a second, his embrace being my favorite place to be—where I belong.
