Nick nodded. “I should know who the other two are, and if there are more, by tomorrow.”

“What’s your plan?” Chase asked.

“Still working out the details, but two of my teammates are headed this way tomorrow. The mission objective is to draw our bad guys here. As soon as we know who the others are and we’re set up for them, we’ll turn on Harper’s laptop, letting them know where we are.”

“I want in on this,” Chase said. “You got room in that cabin for one more?”

“Never going to turn town experienced help. I’ve only got one guest bedroom, so bring a sleeping bag.”

“You got any security cameras set up there?” Nick asked.

“Got them all around the cabin.”

“That’s good. I’m not a combat soldier like you and Chase, but I can be your eye in the sky. Give me the link and password, and I’ll connect to them. What about comms? You have them?”

“My teammates are bringing them.”

“How about we use ours so I can be connected to everyone?”

“That works.” Kade squeezed her leg. “Anything you want to say or ask, Harper?”

Actually, there was something she’d been thinking about while they talked. “Do you have a recording device, something I could wear that wouldn’t be obvious?”

Kade narrowed his eyes. “Exactly what are you needing that for?”

He wasn’t going to like her answer, but he’d have to get over it. “For a confession. I want that man who hurt me to admit it. I want him, or one of them, to admit they killed that poor girl.”

“No. You won’t be getting close to him, to any of them.”

“I’m a part of this. You agreed.”

“And you will be. We’ll go over the plan later.”

“A confession would be helpful,” Nick said. “It won’t be admissible in court because we won’t have his consent to record it, but it wouldn’t hurt to have it, and we do actually have a wire that looks like a necklace she can wear. Chase will bring it with him.”

Kade glared at the screen. “She is not getting near these people.”

“You’re not the boss of me,” she muttered.

“We’ll just see about that,” he muttered back.

Both the brothers chuckled. “I think this is where we’ll fade out,” Chase said. “Send me the location of the cabin, and I’ll see you two tomorrow.”

“Thank you both for everything,” she told them. “The steak-and-lobster dinner’s on as soon as this is over. And don’t forget that necklace.”

Kade logged off, then turned what she was sure he thought was an intimidating stare on her. It was impossible to be intimidated by a man who’d worshiped her body while shower water rained down on them.

Because she couldn’t resist messing with him, and because she wanted a repeat even if she was already squeaky clean, she tapped his nose. “If you need me, I’ll be in the shower.” As she walked away, she pulled her T-shirt over her head and tossed it behind her.

“Come back here. I wasn’t finished with you,” he growled.

She sure hoped not. She smiled when she heard his boots hitting the floor as he came after her. To make sure he didn’t lose interest, she dropped her bra, leaving him a trail to follow.

Chapter Thirty-Three

There was no way Kade was letting Harper within a hundred yards of their targets. He didn’t give a damn if the men crowded shoulder-to-shoulder in the living room of his cabin agreed with Harper that they needed a confession. Fine, he wasn’t against that. It was her insistence that she was the one who could get it that was a negative. No. Not happening. Not on his watch.

He glared at them all—Tristan, Parker (and why was he here?), Viper, Cupcake, and Chase. His team. The team that was watching him pace in front of them. Why hadn’t he bought a bigger cabin, one with some damn pacing room?
