He’s too gorgeous to be looking at me and thinking anything good.
I bite at my lip while the other guy chats away, asking me what I want to drink.
“Nothing right now, thank you. I think I need to find my friend,” I reply, wondering if I should run out of here or go find Ruslana.
“Oh, no, come on, angel, have a drink with me. I’d be the luckiest guy on the planet.” He grins and I spot the gold tooth. I scrunch my nose.
“Thank you, but honestly—“
“I believe the lady has already said no,” Radmir’s voice is deep and soothing as it brushes over me. His hand caresses my lower back and heat builds in my body.
Why is he always touching me, always flirting with me? I don’t get it. Is it some kind of game to him to tease the chubby girl by making her think she’s his type.
I sigh and turn to glare at him.
“Hi,” I say, a little coldly.
The other man senses the tension and nods awkwardly before turning away.
“Starfish, you took my breath away the moment I saw you. Stop teasing me like this and just give in. You know you want to.” He grins. Flirting again.
Dammit. That smile. It’s too much to bear.
“I think I need a drink,” I comment, trying so hard, but failing terribly to not gawk at his intense sex appeal and total and utterly divine hotness.
I step around him and make my way to the bar. Men grin at me and step in front of me to talk to me until they see Radmir just behind me and quickly back off. I wonder what kind of lookhe’s giving them to make them run so fast. I wonder why they even wanted to talk to me in the first place.
At the bar, I ask for a mango gin with a splash of chili. The barman smiles, his eyes drifting over my breasts for a moment.
“The lady placed her order, best you go and get it,” Radmir snarls at him with intense authority in his voice. The barman flushes redder than I do around Rad and rushes off to get my order.
Usually I’m a confident person in a crowd of people. ButusuallyI’m wearing actual clothes that cover the parts of me I want covered.
I sigh in frustration.
A man steps up to the bar next to me.
“Can I get you a drink?” he asks, leaning one elbow against the bar and letting his eyes drift over me. What is going on tonight?
“Ehem.” A deep warning comes from behind me and a thick muscular arm slips around my waist from behind.
“Oh, Radmir, oh, shit I didn’t see you there. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean any offense I thought she was, um, I’ll see you round.” The man scuttles off in more than a hurry with his tail between his legs.
Radmir chuckles a little darkly.
“I’m practically one of the biggest guys in this place, but hedidn’tseeme.” I turn to scowl at him. He’s smirking. “Of course, he didn’t see me, starfish because no one can look at anything but you.”
I look away from his magnificent smile. The one that sends shivering warmth down my spine and a tingling sensationbetween my legs. The one that makes me want to lean towards him and stupidly—to kiss him again.
That kiss that haunts me every moment of every day. The one I tell myself wasn’t the most beautiful kiss I’ve ever felt. Yeah. That one.
“Gin, mango and a dash of chili,” the barman says as he sets my drink down in front of me.
“Thank you.” But he won’t even look at me now.
I roll my eyes and pick up my drink to sip it. Then set it back down on the bar top.
I have no idea what is up with everyone, why they are so scared of Radmir. He’s just a man. A man I’m going to destroy. His hand brushes over the naked skin of my back as he leans forward and whispers against my ear. “Dance with me. I want to be the man dancing with the most beautiful girl here.”
