Breathless and hot, I rest my finger under her chin. She lets her legs untangle from around my waist and stares up at me.
“Jade, I want you in my life. Forever. You are my wife, but I want to renew those vows properly—a real wedding, a real commitment.”
She grins, holding back tears of joy.
“I want the same thing,” she nods, pressing her lips together, she licks them and my heart beats faster.
“You have to promise me something, and I will do the same thing.” I say sternly.
She stares straight into my eyes. “Anything,” she says.
“Promise me that we will never lie to each other. No matter what it is, we will be honest, and face it together.”
Tears of relief flood down her cheeks and she pulls me close to kiss me. “I promise,” she whispers against my lips. Her voice soaks through me like warm flames on a cold night.
“I love you, Radmir.”
Epilogue - Jade
The months have moved quickly since everything happened.
I can’t believe that today, the seventeenth, is exactly four months since we rescued Ruvim and Radmir and I resolved our issues.
Each day that goes by, and things between us become even better. We are more in love than ever and I can’t imagine my life without this man in it.
I lost my brother, and it tore me apart. I was tricked and used by someone I thought was on my side, and that hurt, but at the end of the day, all of these things brought me to Radmir. They all gave me the man of my dreams and for that I am eternally grateful.
Walking into the office at Radmir’s warehouse where I work, I set my things down on the desk and glance at my watch.
If I don’t hurry I’m going to be late for the meeting.
I got caught in some unexpected traffic this morning and it made me regret not getting up a little earlier and just driving in with Radmir like I usually do.
I hurry from my office, across the upper level towards the board room.
Radmir looks up and smiles when I step inside. “Morning,” he says warmly.
“Hello, sorry I’m late everyone,” I mutter, quickly taking my seat next to my husband.
Rodion glances at his watch. “You’re not quite late. I think you just made it,” he chuckles. “Alright, we can get going then—” he raises his brows and glances over the table at each of his brothers.
Radmir brushes his hand over my thigh beneath the table and squeezes my leg gently. He knows I’m tense.
This meeting is about a number of different things to do with the business, but it is also about me asking for help from his brothers.
Rodion starts going through schedules and plans and I take notes, making sure to keep a record of dates, times and venues so that I can email all of it to everyone afterwards.
“Was there anything else?” he asks, coming to the end of his list.
I raise my hand, my heart clenching tightly. “I wanted to discuss something a bit off-topic from the business,” I say, standing up.
Rodion nods and sits down, giving me the lead.
“My brothers have been keeping me up to date over the past month and they have still not managed to find any trace of Andrei.
I’m getting really worried and I wanted to ask for your help in finding him.”
“He probably fled the city, realizing who Marat really was and that he was in danger,” Renat says, shrugging.
