“Damn it,” he hissed, and I knew I’d won. I rushed the rest of the way to our bedroom, giggling and squealing the entire time. When I got close enough, I did a Superman dive onto the bed. “Give me those panties.” Dex stalked closer and wiggled his finger in my direction.
“These?” I laughed as I hooked my thumbs in the waistband and wiggled my hips. I pushed the lace down and then held them out for him.
“What’s with the teasing today?” He ripped his shirt off, tossing it to the side before shoving his shorts and boxers down.
“We’ve been doing the sweet stuff.” I shrugged. “I wanted more of this version of you.” I reached up, grabbed a handful of hair from the back of his head, and tugged him to me, crushing my mouth to his in the process.
“You’re fucking hot when you do this,” he mumbled against my lips.
“Let’s make a baby.” I sighed as he positioned himself, and rocked his hips forward.
ooooooooo
“I might have to start taking naps in the middle of the day.” Dex’s head rolled to the side as he laughed.
“Ha ha.” I rolled my eyes. “I don’t know any guy who complains about too much sex.”
“I’m not complaining, I’m just not conditioned for this.” He yawned. “You can help me train.” He rolled onto his side to face me.
“Well, I would hope it would be me,” I teased. Dex leaned forward and kissed me lightly. “Get some rest.” He yawned again before rolling to his back and turning the bedside light off.
“Night. Love you.” I smiled into the darkness.
“Love you, too.” He sighed, and then within minutes I could hear his breathing getting deeper. Dex had been working hard at the paper, and I knew that was the reason for him wanting naps.
I laid awake for at least an hour, just staring at the ceiling. I let myself imagine that our love making had worked, and we were pregnant. I smiled softly at the thought of a baby growing inside me. What it would feel like, how happy we’d be. It was a dream that I was trying to will into reality. I said a prayer that night, hoping that it would come true before drifting off to sleep.

As much as I wanted to be excited about today, I was more excited about it being over. Our reception for our family and friends was starting in a few hours, and Madi and my mom were fawning all over me.
“I think we should pin these flowers in your hair.” Madi started moving closer with what looked like a handful of little white silk roses.
“I’m good.” I held up my hands. I’d gone to a salon earlier in the day and sat for two hours having my hair styled for this.
“Don’t you think this would look great? It matches the little flowers on your dress.” She tried again.
“I think that you can save those for yourself. I spent a lot on this.” I pointed to my head. “Help me, Mom.”
“Bailey’s never been a flower type girl. She’s always been kinda into sports and playing in the dirt.” Mom laughed. “Good try, though.” She nodded at Madi.
“Let’s get this party started,” I demanded as I stepped into my dress. Mom zipped me up, and we headed for the car. I’d gotten ready at the condo, and Dex was waiting at the jazz club. My dad had rented a town car, and he was going to be my chauffer for the night.
“All set?” He stuck his head through the door to mine and Dex’s room.
“Yes.” I grabbed the front of my dress, and began to make my way downstairs, almost knocking over Madi in the process.
“That dress is dangerous.” She giggled as she rushed behind me.
ooooooooo
The ride over to the venue wasn’t a long one, and when we arrived, I put my game face on. I’d already gotten my perfect moment when we were in Hawaii; this was for everyone else.
“Game time.” Madi clapped happily as she opened the back door, and climbed out. I swear she is the complete opposite of me. I don’t know how we became best friends. Our differences are on separate planets at times. She held out her hand to help me out. The white fabric frothed around me as if I were sitting on a cloud. I twisted and pushed to get free of the backseat, groaning in annoyance in the process.
“Go big or go home, huh?” She elbowed me in the side.
“I’m making a mental list,” I grumbled through a smile as she headed for the door.
