Rock was at the stove, and he spun around to face her. His eyes went wide, and he stared for a few seconds before speaking.“I put your suitcase on the bed. It took every ounce of willpower I don’t usually possess not to open it and put everything in drawers. Just so you know.”

She chuckled. “So controlling.”

“Yes. I cleared out one side of the dresser for you.”

She inhaled deeply. “It smells so good in here.”

“Please tell me you aren’t vegan or something. You didn’t mention it last night with the chicken soup.”

“Nope. No special dietary requirements. I like most things. My stomach is growling now that I smell bacon.”

“Breakfast is almost ready, Little Lyla. You’re welcome to come to the table in that towel if you’d like.” He grinned.

She rolled her eyes and headed into the bedroom, shutting the door behind her. She wasn’t stupid. She knew he would see every inch of her soon, probably by tonight, considering how weak she felt about keeping her distance from him, but he didn’t need to watch her get dressed this morning.

Putting on a bra proved to be a challenge. Her biceps were very sore. They were also turning purple in some places. She put a long-sleeved shirt on to cover them. She didn’t need to watch Rock growl every time he saw the bruises, nor did she want to field questions from everyone she saw.

Fully dressed, including jeans and tennis shoes, she exited the bedroom. The table was covered with plates of food.

“How many people are you expecting for breakfast?” she asked as she joined him.

“I thought you might be hungry. Plus, I wasn’t sure what your favorite breakfast foods were, so I went overboard.”

“I am starving, and just so you know, I’m going to eat some of everything. Also, I’m impressed with your culinary skills.”

He shrugged. “The kids were still young when Kathy died. I had to learn to be a Mom and a Dad really fast. I had to becomedomestic. They had to eat. I’m never going to win any cooking awards, but I’m pretty good with breakfast food.”

She closed the distance and wrapped her arms around him. “I’m really sorry about your wife.” She’d said so already, but it couldn’t hurt to tell him again. It must have been rough raising the kids on his own, even if he did have the help of the MC.

He hugged her back, burying his face in her hair and inhaling. She liked it when he did that. It made her feel special. “Thank you. Can I just say how glad I am that you’re here?”

“I’m glad I’m here, too,” she whispered, tipping her head back to look at him.

“We should eat before it gets cold. If I don’t release you immediately, I’m going to end up pinning you to the wall and kissing you senseless again.”

“You seem fond of kissing against the wall,” she responded, clenching her legs together at the same time. It didn’t take much for him to make her horny. Nearly everything he said was filled with sexual innuendo.

Rock released her and pulled out a chair. “Sit, Little Lyla.”

She giggled. “I’m struggling to feel small.”

“Not small, Little.” He pushed her chair in.

“I know what you mean, but it’s foreign to me.”

He bent over and kissed the top of her head. “It won’t be for long. When we go to the clubhouse, you’ll be surrounded by Littles. They’ll rub off on you and have you joining their antics in no time.”

“Antics?”

He chuckled as he sat. “Little girls thrive on being naughty. You’ll see.”

“Mmm. Naughty, how?” She took a serving spoon from him and started filling her plate. But when she looked up at him and found his jaw tight, she handed the spoon back to him. “You want to do this, don’t you?”

He smiled at her and took the spoon. “It’s how I’m wired, Baby girl.”

She waved toward the food. “Go ahead. I feel like a princess. If that’s what it means to be Little, I won’t argue.”

“I want you to feel like a princess every day of your life, Lyla.”
