She released a blissful sigh. There were definite benefits to dating a man who wasn’t human. Just thinking about Payim’s bite and the way he rocked her world made her nipples harden.

No, not dating. We’re married. Her heart leapt as she remembered they were bonded according to Payim’s culture.

Well, I guess I better feed my new husband.

She smiled giddily as she gently extricated herself from Payim’s embrace, carefully uncoiling his tail. She managed to get free without waking the sexy, sweet slumbering giant, but then as she stood, her body reminded her of just how vigorously they’d bonded. More than just her pussy was sore.

Elena froze as Payim groaned and shifted. Seeing the gorgeous man stretched out totally nude was tempting but her poor little vagina probably needed a break and nature also called.

“I better get dressed before he catches me standing over him naked,” she murmured as she swiftly grabbed her clothes.

Once dressed, she tiptoed out of the storage bay and grabbed her bag before hopping out of the cruiser.

“Where did I see those string berries?” she mused, surveying the muddy landscape while taking care of her morning business.

Ah, yes.She recalled where she’d spotted them yesterday and headed toward the nearby copse of shrubs that reminded her of weeping willows.

Elena circled the wispy stunted trees and spotted the dangling strands of yellow berries. The strange fruit always reminded her of a beaded necklace. When she’d first discovered the odd treat, she’d draped them around her neck and ended up with a sticky mess all over her chest. Elena snorted, recalling a similar incident featuring a candy necklace from her childhood. Happily, she hummed while collecting the delicious strands, dropping them into her shoulder bag.

The abrupt sharp pain in her back took her by surprise. She gasped, trying to catch her breath, and her knees buckled. As the tunnel vision claimed her, she spotted the four disgusting reptiles.

No!

Payim quo Desero

The unmistakable stench of greed and depravity woke him even before the sound of two pairs of footsteps reached his ears. Fear spiked, realizing Elena wasn’t in the storage bay and the only way she could’ve exited was the direction the vile reptiles were coming. He cracked his eyelids, swiftly clocking where the reptiles were in the corridor and the location of his disrupter.

Son of metcor! The weapon was just out of reach.

“It’s a Cadi,” the lead reptile barked upon entering the room.

Payim rolled as the bastard fired. The blast strafed his arm but his fear for Elena and hatred of the flesh merchants burned so hot that he barely noticed the stinging pain as he grabbed his weapon. Another shot struck the spot where his disrupter had just been but the reptiles were too slow. Payim spun and fired, striking the first reptile in the gut. The Jurou Biljana’s knees buckled, its sickly yellow eyes widening in shock. Payim’s savage snarl vibrated the room as he fired again, obliterating the foul reptile’s stupid expression before the bastard even hit the floor.

Stunned by his explosive, vengeful response, the other scaly bastard turned tail and ran back down the short corridor. The fools hadn’t expected to find a Cadi Warrior and certainly not one that was newly bonded. There was nothing in the universe as dangerous as a Cadi male separated from his mate.

He took off after the reptile, his incensed roars shaking the ship. As he chased the fleeing male, his fear and rage grew, he didn’t see or scent Elena anywhere.

“Where is my female?” Payim bellowed as he leapt out of the cruiser.

The Jurou Biljana glanced back, terror in its eyes as it erratically ran through the thick mud, trying to reach the nearby thicket. Payim’s gaze narrowed on the bastard. He wanted to shoot the scaly piece of dung in the back, but he needed to know what happened to Elena. He aimed and waited for the reptile to cross in front of his sight and then fired. The bastard screamed and dropped, clutching his injured leg.

“Where is my female?” he again snarled as he purposefully stalked toward the vile git.

Frantically, the reptile fired at him while trying to crawl away. Payim easily dodged the blast. The reptile’s second wild shot added to his burning rage and Payim fired back, severing the bastard’s arm. The reptile screamed in agony, flailing the bloody stump. He had little sympathy for the foul creature. Payim swiftly closed the distance, dropped to his knees and gripped the scaly bastard’s neck, silencing the annoying squeal.

“I’m not going to ask again. I’m going to slowly remove the rest of your limbs then yank out your entrails,” he growled as the reptile’s eyes bulged.

He loosened his grip but didn’t release the wretched vermin. Instead, he pressed his disrupter to the male’s other arm. There was fear in the reptile’s eyes, yet the fool defiantly pursed his thin lips. Payim stared down the piece of shit. He would not be losing this war of wills. He’d make good on his promise. His finger quivered on the disrupter trigger and then the reptile’s gaze darted to the left. From the corner of his eye, Payim caught movement in the sky as a Jurou Biljana cruiser took off from a nearby stand of trees.

“No!” he roared as he leapt up and spun, following the trajectory of the cruiser.

How could he have been so stupid? While he was fooling with this bastard, another team had escaped with his female.

“No!” he bellowed again, his rage and horror eclipsing any emotion he’d ever known.

Blinded by emotion, he spun back to the reptile that distracted him. The bastard was trying to reach for his severed arm and weapon.

“You took my mate from me,” he raged and fired, annihilating the bastard’s remaining hand.
