“Okay. I’ll see you in a few days, Mom.”
“A few things first. Bend over,” he asked Nadzia.
“What?!” Nadzia gaped at him.
“Don’t get excited, female,” he snickered, knowing where her rowdy mind was going.
“Ew, Aculus, you’re not helping. I’m not bending over for you in front of my mother!” Nadzia grimaced and stuck out her tongue.
“And you call me a pervert,” he chuckled harder and shook his head. “I need to shut off our trackers.” He pressed his comm to his own rear to demonstrate.
“Oh,” Nadzia laughed and stuck her butt out. “Oh, oh yeah, baby. Right there,” she said as he pressed his comm to her round cheek to switch off the chip buried beneath her skin.
He snorted then growled when she winked at him and bit her lip seductively.
“Um, kids,” Carol admonished them.
The lusty sound died in his throat as he glanced at Carol. “Sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. My daughter is clearly the one at fault here.”
“What?” Nadzia declared, a smile threatening to ruin her mock offense.
We are quite a pair, he chuckled as he turned back to Carol.
“I hate to ask this, but if someone comes looking for us, you…”
“I have no idea where you went. I got it.” Carol nodded.
“Thank you.”
“You seriously think they’ll hunt us down?” Nadzia asked.
“You’ve met Axilla.” His brow arched.
“Yeah, you’re right.” She grimaced.
“I’m going toaccidentlyleave this here, too.” He tucked his comm into the seat.
“Won’t we need that to buy things?” Nadzia asked.
“That’s why I transferred credits to this.” He held up the card he grabbed before leaving the cruiser.
“And that stuff?” Nadzia pointed to the pile on the nearby cot.
“Ah, yes.” He grabbed the combat shell. “This is what your sister wore. Hold out your arms.”
“Ooh, a disguise.” Nadzia held out her arms.
He clapped the vambraces on her forearms then knelt and placed the greaves on her shins.
“Put on the cloak then before we exit the clinic touch your wrist here.” He showed her the spot to engage the shell.
“This is pretty awesome, but why do you guys need them since you’re already armored?” Nadzia asked as she studied the shell before slipping on the blue hooded jacket.
“We’re not invincible and the filter makes it possible to breath in hostile environments,” he explained as he helped her clasp and cinch up the coat that was way too long for her.
“So that’s how Abby and Ash survived when their cruiser crashed on that planet.” Nadzia admired the shell.
