Sweet!
“I’ll leave it up to you. I’m good wherever we go. But I’d love to have dinner with you.”
“Perfect,” Declan said as he polished off the last of his ice cream. Once he was done crunching the waffle cone, and wiped his mouth, he said, “In the meantime, will you do me a favor?”
“Anything,” she said.
“Keep the shenanigans to a minimum,” he told her. “I know this Derek guy bugs you. But try not to get into trouble over him. He’s not worth it. And if he messes with you, come find me. Deal?”
“Deal!” she said.
“Good. Because I’d hate for you to get kicked out of camp before we can have our big date.”
Maisie almost giggled in excitement, but managed to hold it in.
So tomorrow nightwasa date! Nice.
She marveled at the dichotomy. Running into Derek was the worst! Meeting Declan and landing a date with him was the best.
Hmm. Something told her this was going to be a very interesting week at Camp Mountainville.
Very interesting indeed.
Chapter Eight
“I can’t freaking believe this!” Maisie said.
She was now wearing a short, pink and white gingham dress and a matching cover over her poufy disposable diaper. Her hair was in pigtails, and it felt good to be properly in Little Space, though she was still nervous. Derek might see her that way! The thought kept crossing her mind, as she stood in the main room of her cabin, that she should change back into “big girl” clothes.
“I’m sorry, friend,” Naomi offered. “I bet you’re still in shock. I mean, what are the odds that you would both be here?”
“Yep,” Maisie agreed. She groaned for the umpteenth time that day and fell dramatically onto the couch.
Walking into the room, Sophia said, “Hey, on a positive note, you have a date with that hottie!”
This temporarily alleviated Maisie’s misery, causing her to giggle along with the other two women.
“Declan is as hot as Derek is annoying,” she said.
“So something good came from today,” Naomi pointed out. “We all got new outfits and diapers and pull-ups. That’s pretty cool. Right?”
“She’s right!” Sophia said. “And you’re still at Camp Mountainville. You’ve made two new friends and we’re bound and determined to help you have a good time, sister.”
Maisie’s heart warmed as she stood and reached out, taking Naomi’s and Sophia’s hands in hers. “That’s right! I’m sorry, guys. I’m not going to let Derek ruin this for me.”
The three women hugged.
“You all ready to go eat?” Naomi asked, letting go of them and stepping back. “I didn’t buy this outfit to sit around the cabin all night. I need to show this baby off!” She twirled, causing her pink babydoll dress to fly up and reveal her frilly panties.
“Ready!” the other two declared in unison.
They set out from their cabin and walked along the trail toward the cafeteria. Inside the large, log building, they found the big, open room filled with talking and laughing Littles engaged in various conversations as they took their meals.
“I’ve heard the food here is surprisingly good,” Maisie said as they got in line.
A few minutes later, they made their selections, were handed back their full trays, and found a seat in the main dining room.
Naomi took a bite of her burger and said, “This is really good, actually. Tastes like a restaurant.”
