“I’m, eh, fine,” she said, waving off his concern.

He studied her for a moment before saying, “Well, I’m not your Daddy. Yet. At least we haven’t talked about it and made it official. So I won’t push you. But if you want to know my opinion, you need a swim diaper on, little girl.”

Now excitement replaced that self-doubt. Declan sure sounded intent on being her Daddy. The way he’d phrased it even made it sound like in his mind, he already was—they just hadn’t had the formality of making it official.

That thought warmed her heart.

“I’ll wear one if you want me to,” she said quickly.

He smiled wider. “Good girl. You want me to put it on you? I have a whole package in the lifeguard shack for Littles like you. We don’t want any accidents at the pool.”

She tried to respond verbally but only a little giggle escaped her throat. So, she simply nodded.

Fireworks erupted inside her when Declan took her hand and led her into the small, white siding-covered building.

Daddy was going to change her.

“Do you change all the Littles who need a swim diaper?” Maisie asked.

She was lying atop a large changing table that was bolted into the wall, waiting nervously as Declan unfolded the disposable garment.

He chuckled. “No, sweetie. Only Littles who are mine. And that’s you.” Reaching out, he playfully bopped her nose, causing her to giggle again.

“So, I’m yours?” she probed.

He stooped his head low until his lips were on hers, answering the question with a kiss that left her breathless.

Once it was over, he still said, “Yes. At least, I hope you are.”

“I am.” A moment passed before she added, “Daddy.”

Oh gosh, it felt so good to say that! She knew they were moving fast but time was of the essence! She only had a week at Camp Mountainville and some of those days had already passed. Besides, it wasn’t that she was just throwing herself at the first handsome Daddy she saw. There was something between her and Declan. She’d known it since the moment they’d shared that “fake” kiss on the sidewalk.

She was a bundle of nervous yet excited energy as he slid her swim bottoms down, revealing her most sensitive area.

“Daddy’s going to lift that cute bottom off the table and slide this diaper beneath you,” he said as he worked.

A moment later, her cheeks were resting on the comforting, soft cotton of the bulky garment.

“Now, I’m going to spread those legs apart, sweet girl,” Declan continued.

She nearly lost it when he did that, wishing the gesture was to accomplish…other things. Perhaps that would come later.

Right now, though, he simply aligned the diaper, secured the four tapes, and tugged on the waistband to make sure it was good and tight. He finished by stooping low once again to kiss her forehead.

“You ready to go play and have fun, sweet girl?”

“Ready, Daddy!”

She loved the affection she saw in his eyes as he looked down at her. A moment later, he asked, “Do you want to meetup for dinner? I know you only have a few days left with your friends, and I don’t want to infringe on your time with them. So no pressure.”

“Yes!” she said.

Her heart sank as she realized how right Daddy was; she didn’t have many days left at Camp Mountainville. She’d miss Naomi and Sophia. And the thought of being away from Declan was heart shattering. She’d just found Daddy! How could she tear herself away from him so quickly?

How would the long-distance thing work? Surely he intended on them staying together. This wasn’t just a camp thing. Was it?
