This got her to crack an eye open. “What?”

“Let me get you somethin’ to wear.” Thomas moved her with gentle hands before he slid off the bed and walked out of the room while she enjoyed watching the muscles in his back and ass as he left. When he came back in he was carrying her suitcase. “You got PJs in here?”

“Yes, sir. I’ll—” She began to sit up but he held up a hand.

“Allow me.”

As she watched, more than a little amused, he unzipped her suitcase and carefully began to rifle through her things. After a couple of minutes he held out what she’d packed—an oversize t-shirt and a nicer silk gown.

He took his time eyeing each one. “This one, I think.” He tossed her the t-shirt. “I want you to be comfortable.”

There was something sweet and equally sexy about having him choose her clothes. She was humming with happiness as she caught it and slid it over her head. The next thing she knew, Thomas was walking toward her with a hairbrush in hand. Her heart caught.

Natalie didn’t see how it could get any better than it was already, but she certainly wasn’t going to argue.

Thomas slid behind her and began to run the brush through her hair. He was careful, taking his time, and soon he had her practically purring as she lay up against him. “That ought to do it, little-bit. Now let’s get you tucked in all nice and cozy.”

She yawned almost immediately. Funny, she hadn’t realized how tired she was until right that moment. It had been a long day. But as he tucked her under the comforter, she couldn’t help but feel that it had all been worth it to bring her here. She felt like she belonged. It was a new feeling, one she had never known she was missing before until she gazed up at her cowboy with adoring eyes.

“Now, close your eyes and I’ll tell you a bedtime story.” As soon as she’d obeyed, his deep, comforting voice began, “Once upon a time...”
