“That’s all I ask.” He smashes his lips to mine for a deep kiss.

Teeth clank together as our tongues explore each other’s mouths. I let out a soft moan when my dick hardens, and I rub against the side of the console. Shane bites my lower lip and pulls, releasing another, louder moan from me.

“I’m going to come if we don’t stop,” I pant against his lips.

He rests his forehead against mine with his eyes closed, trying to catch his breath. “Do we have time for me to take care of it for you?”

I shake my head keeping our foreheads together. “Benji is-”

A loud smack against my window scares me, making me jump back. My heart skyrockets when I see a pissed-off Benji glaring at Shane. His arms are crossed over his broad chest and his nostrils are flared.

I look back at Shane and see him staring daggers at my brother. The tension coming off him is palpable.

I reach for the door handle and push the door open when Shane grabs my arm. I glance over at him and see that his features have softened a little.

“If you need me, call. I don’t care what time it is. I’ll always answer.” He squeezes my arm. “Are you okay if I kiss you with him looking?”

I shake my head subtly, terrified of what Benji might do if he saw that. Shane nods and pulls his hand back.

“I love you, Charlie. Text me when you get there.” He smiles softly as I push the door open.

Closing it behind me, I keep my head down as I walk around Benji and get in his car. When he doesn’t get in, I look over at him talking to Shane who’s stepped out of his truck. Their voices are muffled as Benji starts pointing at Shane aggressively, but Shane looks unbothered. Shane shrugs then I hear Benji say, “Fuck you,” as he turns and gets in his car, slamming the door. He backs out of the spot quickly, tires squealing as he shifts into drive and speeds away from Shane.

I look in the side mirror and see Shane standing at the back of his truck watching us leave.

Benji doesn’t say anything on the two-hour drive. Not that I’d be able to hear him over the loud rap music he has blasting through the speakers.

We speed through our hometown of Gold Ridge Valley as my heart rate picks up. Passing our old high school brings sudden flashbacks of being bullied in the bathrooms, making my breath hitch.

I close my eyes and force myself to take deep breaths, calming myself. I visualize the path through town from memory as Benji slows to turn onto the road that leads to our house. I keep my eyes closed as he goes around each bend in the road, coming to a stop in front of the gates.

I slowly open my eyes and stare at the massive A that’s in the middle of the metal gate. My father had it made out of gold so everyone who came here knew he was made of money, not thatthe mansion beyond the gate was lacking in the ‘I'm arrogantly rich and I like to shove it in people's faces’ department.

Benji hits a button on the dashboard, opening the gates. As soon as there's enough room to clear his side mirrors, he speeds up the hill and comes to a screeching halt as he parks in his designated spot in the open garage. My heart is in my throat as I slowly release the door handle one finger at a time.

I see Benji turn towards me out of the corner of my eye.

"I'm not going to say anything to Dad about you and Shane." I nod, looking down at my lap. "But that's only because it'll put him in a bad mood, and I don't want to deal with it for the next two days." He leans closer. "But just know that Shane has a big mouth. And I wouldn't be surprised if Dad finds out without me saying anything." He leans in even closer, lips right next to my ear. "He's already on Dad’s radar. It's only a matter of time before he gets Shane alone." An icy chill runs down my spine as I watch Benji climb from the car.

He's going to disappear like the others!

With shaking legs, I force my body to get out of the car and into the safety of my room. I go in the side door that the housekeepers use and climb up the back stairs to the third floor. I quietly open the door and make sure no one is in the hall before quickly making my way into my room and locking my door.

My room is exactly how I left it. Clothes all over the floor, drawers half open, bed a mess of blankets, and empty bottles under my bed. I guess my mother told the cleaning crew not to clean in here.

Pushing off the door, I toe off my shoes and climb onto my bed, throwing the blankets over my head. Pulling my phone from my pocket, I send a text to Shane letting him know that I’m here.

Blue: Try to have a good time baby. Remember what I said about calling me whenever you need me. I’ll be here.

Blue: Oh and I still expect a selfie or two tomorrow ;)

I put my phone away and curl up in a ball. The exhaustion from only sleeping three hours last night hits me, making it impossible to open my eyes after I blink. I shove a pillow behind me then scoot back so it’s between me and the wall, making it feel like Shane is behind me. I sigh as I settle into the mattress and give in to sleep.

“Mr. Charles, dinner will be served in fifteen minutes and your presence is required.”

I groan as I rub sleep from my eyes.

Another knock comes on my door. “Mr. Charles? Are you in there?”
