My toes curl almost painfully and my back arches so my chest is pressing into his face. He takes full advantage, of course, licking and nipping at the swell of my breasts showing out the top of my shirt.

“You’re so pretty when you come,” he says between pecks on my skin.

“You’re going to be the death of me, Ash. I won’t survive you.”

I lick my lips and finally bring my gaze back to his. We just stare at each other for a moment before beginning to laugh, kissing all the while.

Ash

She went home to pack a bag for the week. She’ll be back once I’m home from my forty-eight-hour shift. I asked her to stay. She insisted I needed to sleep.

Once I get home from that, it’s just going to be she and I for the rest of the week.

It’s nearly frightening to me how much the floodgates of my emotions, thoughts, and feelings have busted open since last night in the hotel room.

I woke up yesterday preparing to white knuckle it round trip until I could fantasize about the way her perfume smelled while I jerked off in the shower later.

Now, I’m one inch away from baring my soul to her like a lovestruck teenager.

We’re insane if we think this could end after one week.

Chapter 9

Wren

Lyla is waiting forme on my front steps when I pull into my designated spot outside of my townhouse. She’s been my best friend since birth. She’s going to read the truth all over my face as soon as she sees me.

“Oh my God,” she says plainly the moment I leave my car. “Tell me everything.”

Fuck. I knew it.

“What are you talking about?” I ask, trying not to look directly at her while I pull my bag from the back seat.

She crosses her arms over her chest and gives her red hair a toss back over her shoulder. “You have ‘I just had sex’ emblazoned on your forehead!”

“That’s ridiculous.” I finally walk by her and up to unlock my front door.

“What is? The fact you had sex with Ash, or that you won’t even tell me about it?”

I pause with my hand on the doorknob then peek over my shoulder at her. She’s right. I want to tell her everything. I want to shout this from the rooftops.

“The second one,” I say quickly then rush inside.

“I KNEW IT!” she says and I can’t help but laugh.

We sit on the sofa, sharing a bag of chips, and I tell her everything. The motel, the one bed… everything.

“I…” She pauses. “I’m at a loss for words.”

“That should scare me,” I joke. “You’re never at a loss.”

“Wren, you’ve been pining after this man for years.”

I toss one of my throw pillows at her. “Stop. I have not.”

“Wren, come on. You’ve told me so many times how amazing he is and how attractive he is. I know you love Casey, and I know you feel at home with them. You can’t deny that.”

“And I won’t try… but I haven’t been pining after him. Just secretly very attracted to him.” I grin. “I can’t help it.”
