He’s right and I feel like shit. He’s one of my best friends. I need to do better. “You’re right, Bryson. How about we do something later this week? It’s not like we have classes anymore.”
Bryson smiles. “Yeah. I’d love that. Dinner and maybe Bangers?”
“Sounds good.” I give him a hug and start getting my bag together.
“Are you going to tell me who it is?” Bryson’s eyes are alight with the need to gossip and I chuckle.
I can trust him, so I nod. “Can you keep a secret?”
“Ooh!” he croons, sitting on his heels. “That’s juicy. Fuck yes. Tell me.”
“Remember the guy from Bangers?”
Bryson gasps dramatically. “Your dare? Fuck yes, I remember that hot-ass man. If I didn’t have one of my own, I’d fight you for that one.” We both laugh. “Wait, how did you find him again? Did you exchange numbers?”
Blowing out a breath, I shake my head. “This is where the secret part comes in. It’s Evan’s dad.”
“What! No! Really?” Bryson has been just as busy as Evan, so Evan hasn’t introduced them yet. “Wow. That’s… what are you going to do?”
“We’re going to keep it quiet for now, then tell Evan when we think it’s something we want to pursue. But I think it is, so maybe soon, we’ll tell him. I really see a future with him. I just hope it turns out okay.”
Turning serious, Bryson says, “He may be upset about it for a bit, but you both mean a lot to Evan. I think he would rather deal with you two together than deal with neither of you at all. And besides, you’re the best person either of us knows. At least he’ll know his father is with someone he loves and trusts.”
Folding my lips in so I won’t cry, I nod. “Thanks, Bryson. That makes me feel better. I just hope he sees reason, ya know? I would never hurt Keith, and Keith wouldn’t hurt me. We’re good together.”
“I believe you. Is that where you’re going now?”
“Yep. Probably gonna stay the night and be back in the morning. Hey, we can get breakfast tomorrow since we can sleep in.”
“Speak for yourself. I have to actually go into class for an exam in the morning. My professor is a dinosaur and is making us use something called a Scantron. Wish me luck.”
He skips out of my room after giving me a brief hug and I smile, glad that we have plans to hang out again.
“Want to go to dinner with me this weekend?” Keith asks me the next week while we’re watching a movie. I have my feet in his lap and he’s subconsciously rubbing them, focused on the action movie he picked.
“Huh?” I heard him, of course, but I want to make sure he knows what he’s asking. We haven’t been in public together, so we don’t run into Evan somewhere. We still haven’t discussed when we’d tell him about us, enjoying our little bubble of happiness.
I have no problem waiting for Keith to be ready to tell Evan. He has more at stake than I do. It would be hard to lose his son when he moved here to be closer to him. It would suck for me to lose my best friend, but it would be even worse for father and son to be estranged.
He tears his eyes from the movie and smiles at me. “We’ve been together for almost six weeks and haven’t been on a single date. I think we ought to change that, don’t you?”
I’m nodding before I can stop myself. “What about Evan?”
He shrugs. “He’ll be out of the state to see his mom this weekend. We can either go out of the city or just find something near here. Up to you?”
“There’s a nice restaurant at the edge of town. Want to go there?”
“Wherever you want, baby.”
I purr, sliding over to him. “I love when you call me baby.” I straddle his lap and kiss him, the movie forgotten.
Keith and I have fooled around since the first time we had sex, but I haven’t felt his cock inside me since then. It’s time to change that.
Sliding from his lap, I hold my hand out so I can lead him into the bedroom. Keith eagerly takes it and follows me.
Once in the room, I climb onto the bed with my ass in the air. “You did promise the next time we fucked, you’d take me like this.”
“That I did,” he says in a deep, sex-filled voice. He climbs up behind me and pulls my pants down, but doesn’t remove them completely. “I want you still for me. I’m going to have you hard, Derek. And you’re going to take it.”
