“Thanks, kid.” Kenny beams. “I’m so fucking happy it went well. Maybe he’ll love living here and want to stay. He could join the club and be our tech guy.”

“Tech guy?” I try not to get too excited. “He’s good with computers. Designs websites and some other stuff.”

“Uh oh,” someone says behind me. I don’t give two fucks. I’m ecstatic.

“Ignore them. Clearly, the universe is smiling down on me today.” I tell my mom and Kenny. “I met the man of my dreams last night, and I need to find him. Nicky can help. Oh, it can be his club initiation instead of having to prospect.”

A lot of MCs have prospects. It’s like probation for usually six months to a year to see if that person would make a good club brother. They generally do the grunt work around the clubhouse. We currently have two; Jonus and Dai.

“Booker, if I didn’t let you out of prospecting, I’m not going to let Nicky. If he even wants to.”

“Aw, Kenny, I love you too,” I give him a hug. I know I don’t call Kenny dad, but he really is a dad to me. He’s never treated Reed differently from me or made me feel other.

“Now, tell me about this guy.”

“He’s so dreamy. He is seriously the hottest guy I’ve ever met, and he’s funny. We had the best sex ever, and I’m obsessed with his nipples.”

Kenny frowns slightly like he’s trying to figure out how to process my words. “Right, well, I’m happy for you. That you met someone. What’s his name?”

“I don’t fucking know. Absolutely no clue, which is why I need Nicky to help me find him.”

“Okay, well, we can ask him when he comes to family dinner next week.”

“That is all so wonderful,” says Mom, bouncing again. “Booker has a new guy, Kenny has another son. It’s a great day.”

“Okay, but Booker’s guy might not feel the same way as Booker does. So maybe we need to prepare for that?” Jet says, in what I think is meant to be his nice nurse voice, but right now just sounds condescending.

“He wants to be found. Trust me.” He doesn't look convinced. “I’m going to leave now, but not because I think you could be right, and I don’t want to hear it. I just need to go check in at the shop.”

I say my goodbyes as I leave and head to the shop.

I know that Nipples felt the connection, too. He had to. That was more than mind-blowing sex, and I really wish I knew why he didn’t leave his number.

Doesn’t matter, I will find him.

I really can’t wait for Nicky’s arrival.

Chapter seven

Nicky

Taking a deep breath, I knock on Kenny’s front door. It’s a really friendly-looking house in a nice-looking neighborhood. Though I think all of Vigo Falls seem to be nice.

I know I don’t need to be this nervous, but I am. I have a whole arse family behind this door. If I’m being really fucking honest, it’s all I’ve ever really wanted. Proper parents and siblings. Maybe a pet bunny or some shit.

A cute little grey one called Heather.

I wonder if you can teach bunnies to do tricks? That would be so fucking cute. I successfully distract myself for about five seconds before I hear a muffled “he’s here,” and the door swings open, and I’m face to face with Kenny again.

“Hi,” I wave like an awkward idiot. “I hope it’s okay. I parked my bike in the driveway?”

“Of course, come on in,” he says, looking so happy to see me. I’m not used to this from anyone other than Max. It’s kind of disarming.

“Thanks,” I say, walking down the hall. I don’t know a lot about interior design, but I know my mom would salivate over the hardwood flooring and the light fixtures.

“Come through and meet Stella and Reed. Booker should be here any minute. He was just finishing up with a client.” He says as we walk into the living room. Standing in the middle of the room is a kind-looking woman bouncing on her toes. She’s about the same height as Kenny, with long silver hair and what looks like a tattoo sleeve peeking out of her t-shirt on her right arm.

Stella is seriously cool.
