Not the wall, the framed print.

It swung loose of the mounting, dangling precariously on the side. Ilya’s fingers dug into my legs. It was a silent encouragement to wrap around him. I leaned back again; my hips rocked into his mouth.

“I can’t get enough of your taste, Izzy.” His teeth grazed my clit, pulling it gently, but because of the sensation, it was a rush of electricity.

I shuddered violently. My head banged into the wall.

The picture broke free of its restraints and crashed to the ground. The noise covered the strangled cry of my release.

His voice was rough with need. “You’re the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen, sweet siren. When you come undone forme, I feel like I’ve witnessed a fairy goddess of old releasing the magic that carved the valley and raised the mountains.”

Resistance floated away. I was clay, I was putty. I would do whatever this man wanted. With a tongue like that and a mouth like that, how could I let him go?

“I’m never letting you go,” he promised.

Before I could come up with a response to that, a fist banged against my door.

Chapter 36 – Isabella

“Oh, shit,” I gasped. “They heard us? How did they hear us?!”

Ilya smirked. It would have been handsome, the corner of his mouth quirking up like that, if this was a situation that could be funny. “You could have raised the dead, beautiful.”

I scrambled off the dresser, his hands helping me so I didn’t fall. I ripped open the top drawer, taking out my cozy flannel jammies. I threw them on, mercifully stopping to grab the silky summer set and shoving it back in the drawer.

“Isabella!” my fiancé called, worry sharp in his voice.

Ilya’s gaze thinned as he looked to the door. He wasn’t even nervous! How the hell was that possible? I might have screamed as I came undone, alerting my fiancé to what happened, and heaven knew who else. And there seemed to be a slight annoyance dancing over Ilya’s features at being interrupted.

“Go hide,” I hissed, pushing him toward the bathroom.

The monster crossed his arms and remained stock-still.

Did he even care if we were caught? Well, I sure as hell did!

“Ilya,” I pleaded. “Don’t make this harder than it has to be!”

“What will you give me if I hide?”

Bargaining. He was always bargaining.

Isn’t that what monsters do?The absent thought flashed in my mind. I knew what I’d gotten myself into with this game. Now I just needed to play this next match.

“Whatever you want,” I snapped, giving him another shove just as Alonzo called for me again.

Ilya chuckled. The sound held a dark promise. I would not admit the rough tone seemed to shiver over my skin. He was not going to have the satisfaction of seeing that.

I moved the dresser, hoisting it away from the wall. “Coming, Lonzo!” I shouted.

Muttering a string of Russian under his breath, the monster finally moved. He went into the bathroom, his terrible gaze focused on me.

I hurried to the door and ripped it open. “Spider! It washuge, Lonzo. I need to go get the vacuum—”

I made to rush past him, as if collecting the household cleaning items was the sole important thing in the world.

Alonzo put out his arm and caught me. “Where is it? Where’s the spider?”

I pointed, stammering and making feminine noises of distress. “The damn thing ran under my dresser and the picture fell off its nail, and now there’s no way in hell I’ll sleep since I know it’s there, and— and—”
