“Baseball bat, got it.” He smirks.
“Actually, no. Aurora owes me a favor.” I turn and look at the she-devil herself and then turn back to Orlando. “One scratch and I’m sendingherafter you.” I match his smirk.
Orlando’s brows rise. “Fine, no scratches.” He nods his head. “Thanks.” Then he turns and runs down the corridor.
“Who’s the girl?” I ask Aurora.
“No idea. I just know he asked me for my car first.” She shrugs. “Enzo gave me a ride today, though.”
“Why?” I ask her.
“Because he wanted to give me a lecture. Ever since Lorenzo left, Enzo has taken on the wholegive Aurora lecturesthing,” she says.
The bell rings through the hall. After walking Josie to her first class, I leave her to head to mine. I hate that we don’t have the same schedule. I’m going to make sure that’s not a problem next year.
By lunchtime, Orlando still hasn’t returned with my car, and I’m ready to kill him. But what cements his movement to the top of my shit list is the text message I just got from Zio Theo.
Boss:
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU AT A SEXUAL HEALTH CLINIC, DANTE???
He actually used all caps. I should have known my uncle’s crazy ass would be tracking my car too.
Episode Two
“I’m going to kill him. I don’t care if he’s blood. I’m going to drain every bit of that fucking Valentino blood from his body,” I yell.
“Who?” Luca asks while lifting a questioning brow.
“Fucking Dante.” I turn the screen of my phone around, showing my brother the red dot flashing over the top of a goddamn sexual health clinic.
“What am I looking at?”
“That’s Dante’s car. And that.” I point to the spot on the map. “Is a fucking sexual health clinic,” I grit out between clenched teeth.
Luca fucking laughs. Literally fucking laughs. “Man, you really need to chill the fuck out,” he says.
“Third time’s a charm, you know,” I deadpan.
“Third time for what?”
“The third bullet you take. Don’t make me shoot your ass.”
“You’re not shooting me and you’re not killing Dante,” he groans.
“You sure about that?”
“Yep.” He picks up his own phone, dialing a number before putting it on speaker.
“Luc, I’m busy,” Romeo’s voice comes through the other line a few seconds later.
“You’re about to be busier,” Luca tells him.
“Why?” Romeo asks.
“Your son is at a sexual health clinic, and Theo is threatening to drain his body of blood,” Luca relays.
“First of all, Dante isn’t stupid enough to need a health clinic. Second, Theo, don’t touch my fucking kid,” Romeo says.
