Page 7 of Bonded Chaos

I’d been brought to the Unseelie Kingdom, where the streets were lawless and the leaders ruthless.

And their prince was the worst of them all.

Known for his cunning brutality, and his inability to show the slightest ounce of compassion, it was rumored that even his own father, the King of the Unseelie, was wary of him.

And now I was at his mercy.

As if he could sense my thoughts, the prince’s smirk grew into a wide grin.

“I see my reputation precedes me.”

Chapter Four

Ryker

I was a cruel bastard.

I knew this because I couldn’t help but revel in the fear shining from within the chocolate depths of my mate’s eyes as she took me in.

It wrapped around her, squeezing her tight until her breaths became labored and her body trembled.

It was intoxicating.

I stepped into her space, and her breathing hitched. Her hands shook violently as she tried to steady them in the fabric of her skirts. Despite her obvious terror, however, she lifted her chin and looked me straight in the eye.

A feral grin spread across my face at her defiance. It was an expression that had made seasoned warriors cower at my feet plenty of times before.

Not her, though.

Notmymate.

Something akin to pride welled inside me as I stared her down.

She was strong, resilient, and perhaps a little unhinged.

And I couldn’t wait to tear her down and reshape her into my darkest desire.

“What is your name?” I murmured as I reached out and tucked a lock of her silky chestnut hair behind her ear.

My fingers lingered on her skin, and I traced the column of her throat before she swatted my hand away.

I chuckled at her defiance, and she narrowed her eyes at me.

My mate was a little spitfire.

“Shouldn’t you already know my name? You abducted me from my home! Or do you make a habit of stealing women from the streets?”

Her voice was a melodic symphony to my ears. Soft, yet firm, with a sultry undertone that I wasn’t sure she was aware of.

“Not often, no. Women fall all over themselves for the chance to land at my feet.”

“How fortunate you must be,” she bit out. “Now that we have cleared that up, if you wouldn’t mind returning me to my home, I’d be grateful. I’d hate to keep you from your harem, so I’ll just be on my way.”

She was adorable.

“That won’t be happening.”

“Why the hell not?” she demanded as she crossed her arms over her chest.
