“Let me hear those pretty sounds, princess. Let me know how good I make you feel.”
Aurora’s mewls make me crazy, and I grip her tightly against me before letting myself go. Coming this hard has me seeing stars. I pull out, rolling over to lie beside her on the bed.
“What a way to meet the morning,” Aurora jokes, and I glance over at her before breaking out into laughter. It feels good to be able to be like this with her.
Rolling onto my side, I throw my arm across her waist, gathering her to me. I’m about to close my eyes when she flicks a finger across my forehead. I narrow my eyes.
“What was that for?”
“You can’t go back to sleep. You have practice.”
I shake my head before burying my face into her plush tits. “Just ten more minutes, and then I’ll get up. I promise.”
She sighs, but when I glance up at her, there’s that sweet-looking smile on her face. “Fine, but only because you tired me out too.I have some work to do in the office, so I figured I’d ride in with you if that’s okay?”
I nod. “More than. Maybe I could tease you into a little car sex.”
“Maybe, you’re full of shit,” she shoots back. We both pause before laughing, and I settle in for a well-deserved power nap.
When my alarm wakes me up, I feel better than I have in a long time. I didn’t hear Aurora slip out of bed, but I hear the shower running, so I know she isn’t far.
My attention piques as she scurries past my room, all rolled up in a white, fluffy-looking towel. Her skin’s still dewy from the shower, and it takes a massive amount of willpower not to chase her and bring her back to my bed for another round.
The car ride overis like I’m floating on cloud nine. I’ve got it bad, and I’m not sure how the hell I’m going to get through practice like this.
“Do you think we should tell anyone on the team?” Aurora asks as we’re heading into the arena.
I mull over Aurora’s question. Dating someone so tied up in my life probably isn’t the smartest play, but fuck it. I’m done playing it safe off the ice.
I’d take on the whole league if I had to. No regrets, not a chance.
We reach the locker room just as Caleb and Jax are heading out. They nod at us. “Hey, Aiden. This Jax’s sister?”
I pause, staring him down before wrapping an arm around Aurora’s waist, pulling her into me. “Yeah, but even more importantly, she’s my girl.”
Caleb’s eyebrows shoot up. Jax makes a gagging noise, and we all crack up. Aurora, ever the pro, recovers first giving Jax the stink eye, reaching out to Caleb. “I’m Aurora. Nice to meet you.”
Caleb shakes her hand and smiles. “Nice to finally formally meet you too. I’ve seen some of your social media posts— you do the Cyclones a solid. Jax is always gloating about you. Too bad this asshole keeps shit so quiet.” He jerks a thumb at me, and I shrug.
“I keep the things I love the most closest to my chest.”
Jax’s exaggerated gagging has me grinning like a schoolboy. Teasing him is going to be so much fun from now on.
“Let’s move,” Jax grumbles, dragging Caleb away. “Practice time. I don’t need to hear this shit.”
“Love you, bro,” Aurora calls out, waving. Jax turns and nods, and I just can’t resist.
“Love you too, future brother-in-law!” Jax gives me the middle finger, and I cackle, ignoring the curious looks I get from the other teammates as they head out of the locker room.
“Gotta gear up.” I glance down at Aurora, who’s she’s frozen still, staring at me, wide-eyed, “What’s wrong?”
“You just said things you loved most and called Jax your future brother-in-law.”
My heart skips a beat as I realize what I’ve said. But looking at Aurora’s face, I know I meant every word.
My heart thumps in fear at the level of commitment that I’ve walked myself into until I focus on Aurora’s face. She still looks confused, but I know I meant every word.
The old me would’ve cracked a joke and bailed. But fuck that guy he’s gone. He didn’t have Aurora, or Jax, or a team of idiots who’d take a puck for him. I’m done being afraid of what I want. And what I want is a future with Aurora.
