In the end we’d opted to get tiny treasure chests made for them, big enough to be used as the start of their hoards when it came time for them. Perhaps it was an impractical gift for small children, but in time, they would appreciate the significance of it.
Also, my brothers each insisted on no toys. Much like Luca and I had. We were drowning in toys at the house, and the little ones could barely play with them yet!
“Are we there yet?” Luca asked after only twenty minutes.
I laughed, lifting his hand to my lips and kissing his knuckles. “Not quite, love. Patience.”
“I can’t help it! I’m too excited!”
I grinned. My mate couldn’t be more perfect. “I am too, love. I am too.”
Life couldn’t get any more perfect.
