He chuckled and pulled a bag out of the back seat. “I stopped at your house and grabbed you a few things.”

He pulled a picnic basket out as well as a few towels. He’d really thought of everything.

She blinked slowly at him. “I didn’t even hear you get out of the car. I was knocked out.”

She burst into a fit of giggles. “You might be onto something there.”

She tried to grab a bag from his hands, but he swatted her away and nodded toward Biscuit.

“Just put his leash on and get him.”

Paisley did as she was asked, and together they walked across the parking lot toward the beach. As soon as they got to the sand,they stopped to take their shoes off before finding the perfect spot to set up shop.

Today seemed to prove that hadn’t changed as they both agreed on a spot just a few feet from where the water lapped at the shore.

“Can I let him off the leash?” Paisley asked after they laid their towels off and placed their bags and picnic basket on them.
