“Sure.”
“Could we get up early to get on the road? I’d like to have a couple of hours to explore Nashville before we have to be at sound check.”
“Technically, youdon’t need to be at sound check,” he says softly, “but yeah, we can get up as early as you want. You want to hit the road by seven?”
I nod eagerly. “That would be amazing.”
“Then I guess you need to get to bed.” He stops in front of my door and our eyes meet.
Fuck.
I don’t want him to leave.
Ilikedwaking up next to him.
Waking up to him arriving with breakfast.
Having his voice be the first thing I hear in the morning.
“I…guess I do.”
But I don’t want to. Not alone anyway.
Our eyes are still locked, and I see the question in his.
All I have to do is invite him in.
One more time.
It can’t make things worse, can it?
Probably, but what have I got to lose?
“What would happen if…” I hesitate, biting my lip.
“If…?” His eyes are laser-focused on mine.
“If I asked you… to…”
Why is it so hard to get the words out?
“Asked me to…”
And why is he being so obtuse about this?
“Come inside!” I hiss, whirling around as I swipe my key card to open the door.
Before I realize what’s happening I’m pinned against the wall by his much larger body.
“This what you want, Ryleigh?”
I whimper a little at the heat between us. The ferocity in his eyes. The growl in his voice. I love it all.
“Y-yes.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.”
