Chapter Six
The intensity of Zar’s feelings as he flew through the air with his ofelia riding his back stunned him. Her soft thighs hugged his waist and her hands were pressed against his upper abdomen. She kept sliding them up and down in a gentle caress and he knew she was completely unaware of her actions. The sensation of her bottom against him turned him on something fierce. Garra, how he wished they were both nude. There would be nothing like the satiny warmth of her pussy rubbing against the flesh of his back. Zar tried to concentrate on his flight instead of the emotions rioting inside him. The creature in him longed to connect to Callie. To take her, bind her to him for all time. His brain made a valiant attempt at reason, but the rest of him only wanted his ofelia.
Suddenly Callie adjusted her legs, sitting higher on his back, her thighs widespread around his torso. Something teased his senses. A ripple of pleasure went through his entire body. His wings flexed and expanded. Zar flew faster, taking to the night sky as only a Zenarian could. He was born for it. He’d learned to fly at his father’s urging before he could even walk. There was no one faster. No one could outmaneuver him. The sensation hit him again. His wings vibrated. Fuck! He knew what that was. Callie, and she was aroused. Her body so intimately pressed to his wasn’t supposed to bring on the influr’ite. He dipped to the left, then the right. Callie slid against him and Zar knew what had changed. Her dress must have slipped. Her pussy was grazing his wings where they connected at his back. It was just the barest of touches, but it was enough to bring on the influr’ite. He closed his eyes for a brief moment and luxuriated in the electrical currents traveling down his spine. His dick thickened to the point of pain. Callie rubbed against him again. Liquid heat dripped against his feathers and mingled with his own arousal. During the influr’ite trace amounts of fluid would bead to the surface of his feathers only in the presence of his ofelia. If he had any doubts that she belonged to him before they were extinguished now with that bare contact from Callie.
His mind turned hazy and hearth-borne wavered a little, dropping several feet in the air, before he caught hold of himself. Zar knew Callie was in grave danger if he didn’t get them back to his home before the full force of it hit. It would be a matter of minutes before he literally became drunk on her arousal.
He took great care in turning them mid-flight, then stiffened his muscles and flew faster than he’d ever gone. It wasn’t fast enough. The world tilted and he knew he was feeling the full effects of the influr’ite. Nothing like flying drunk to impress your ofelia. Through sheer willpower, Zar forced himself to focus on his flight path. When he saw his home coming into view, he breathed a sigh of relief.
When he drew close to his balcony, Zar stumbled upon landing. He laughed, feeling lightheaded. His arm shot out and caught Callie before she could fall. She cried out as she grasped onto his shoulders, her fingernails digging into his flesh. He pulled her against his body, enjoying her curves fitted against his body. “You feel good,” he ground out.
Her eyes narrowed. “What’s wrong with you?”
He chuckled and tapped her nose. “You’re so cute.”
“Now I know something is wrong. You sound like you’re drunk, but that doesn’t make sense. What’s wrong, Zar? What can I do to help?”
Callie’s gaze turned serious and Zar found it fascinating. The way her pretty blue eyes darkened and that little pout of her mouth drew downward in a frown. He wanted to strip her bare and make love to her. Drown himself in her. Fuck her into dawn. Wait. That wasn’t right. Some part of him knew there was something very wrong with his train of thought. He shook his head and tried to pull out his cell phone from his front pocket. He couldn’t quite figure out how because his front pocket kept moving. “Phone,” he muttered.
Callie’s hand covered his and she moved it out of the way. Her delicate fingers disappeared inside the pocket and drew out his cell. She held it up. “You want to call someone?”
He tried to take it from her but everything kept spinning and turning. His stomach churned. Damn, if he threw up in front of her he would never forgive himself. She held his hand in hers, palm up, then placed the cell in his hand. “Dial, Zar,” she softly ordered.
He closed his eyes tight to try and gain some sort of equilibrium. When he opened them again, the world wasn’t spinning quite so fast. He focused on the phone. He quickly called his eldest brother, Kade. He would trust no one else with Callie. When his brother answered, Zar growled. “I’m in need.” Kade cursed and hung up. Zar breathed easier knowing his brother was on his way. He tried to shove the phone back into his pocket, but Callie only swatted his forearm and performed the small task for him.
She took him by the hand and led him to the open doors. “Come on, I think you need to sit down. Maybe drink some coffee or something. Do Zenarians drink coffee?”
“You. I want to drink you,” he murmured as he followed her to the couch. He watched the way her ass moved beneath the cotton material of her dress. Zar ached to remove it from her body so he could touch Callie’s silky-smooth flesh.
She shook her head, then pushed him down onto the cushioned seat. He tried to drag her down with him, but she resisted. He was too far gone to focus and she managed to wiggle out of his grasp. “Come to me,” he softly ordered. He needed her. Why didn’t she understand how badly he ached? Only Callie could fix him now.
Callie stepped back, putting space between them. He didn’t like that. There should never be distance between ofelias. She pointed at him. “Stay there while I find you something to drink.”
She headed towards the kitchen and Zar tried to call her back, but his words were all garbled. He laid his head back against the back of the couch and closed his eyes, then reached down and stroked his cock through the material of his slacks. Damn, he needed her. Like he needed oxygen to live. He needed his Callie.
Zar knew the instant she came back into the room. He opened his eyes and saw her staring down at him. He concentrated on her, allowing himself to view her heat signature. God, she was beautiful. Even now with her arousal cooled, Zar’s body still called to hers. His wings flexed, thumping uncontrollably against the couch. The simmer inside him became a full-on boil. His wings swept forward in an attempt to wrap around Callie. She was better prepared this time though and quickly stepped back to avoid being enveloped by them. He cursed, the creature in him was unhappy. Wanted Callie. Needed the connection.
A loud knock on the door, pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked towards the other side of the room in time to see the door fly open. It hit the wall with a loud bang. Kade stood there, his sword in his hand ready for battle. Kade looked at Zar, then Callie, then back at Zar. “What the hell is going on here?”
Callie threw her hands up. “Beats me. One minute he was taking me on a ride, then the next he’s acting like he just drank a bottle of Jack.”
Kade frowned at Callie. “Who are you?” His gaze traveled the length of her, stopping too long on her breasts and Zar wanted to punch him. “Earth-born,” Kade bit out. He aimed his sword at her and crossed the distance in seconds. Zar leaped off the couch and blocked his brother from thrusting his sword into Callie.
“Ofelia!” Zar shouted at Kade. “Do not!”
Kade stumbled backward, his eyes rounding as he peered around Zar to pin Callie with a shocked stare. “Seriously?”
Zar stumbled. Fuck, it was happening again. He’d need to get the words out, before he lost his head to the arousal. “She has ignited the influr’ite,” he explained to Kade. His brother would know what that meant. “I-I miscalculated.”
Kade blinked several times, then sheathed his sword. He crossed his arms over his chest and grinned at him. “Potent, huh?”
“So much,” he growled. “She does not understand our ways, Kade.”
His brother laughed. As if the situation wasn’t completely fucked. He stepped forward and took him by the arm. “Come on, brother, I’ll help you to bed.”
Zar refused to budge as he glanced over at a very confused Callie. His gaze came back to his brother. He tried to keep his next words from slurring, but he wasn’t sure he accomplished his goal. “Protect her with your life. Swear it.”
Kade inclined his head. “My word as the second son of Arlias. She will not be harmed.”
