Fuck me.

It was all I could do not to groan.

Zach’s bike slowed to a crawl to avoid startling the ewes and quietly pulled in alongside Liam’s old Mercedes. The second Zach climbed off, he was tackled by the resident canine welcome committee. My brother had trained both Hopper and Chip and they were madly besotted with him.

After loving on both dogs for a suitable period of time, Zach stood and gave our father a critical once-over. “You’re looking good. Nice to see you out and about.”

“M’okay,” Paddy grunted before running a sour look over the Kawasaki. “Damn thing.”

Zach snorted. “I rode her over just for you. How you doing, Liam?”

“Good.” Liam ran an appreciative hand over the Kawasaki’s gleaming fuel tank and I was reminded of that same hand around my cock just hours ago. “Nice bike,” he practically purred.

Zach grinned like a proud dad. “You ride?”

Liam nodded. “I had an old Honda while I was in university, but let’s just say I work with the result of too many road accidents to take the plunge again.”

Zach nodded. “I totally get it. Luke worries like a mother hen every time I get on the beast. Which is pretty rich considering the man flies a chopper and lands on glaciers for a living. Riding a bike is nothing compared to that shit. You’re welcome to take her out for a run while you’re here. The station roads are perfect for a blat.”

Liam’s eyes sparkled. “I might just take you up on that.”

Zach ran a shrewd eye over Liam and grinned. “First close encounter with a lamb? You have that look.”

Liam laughed. “That obvious, huh?” He glanced over at the ewe and her offspring. “They’re cute as hell.”

Zach followed his gaze. “You wait until Jules gets his guitar out for them. Putty in his hands.”

“Shut up, Zee.” I glared at my brother.

Liam did a slow turn to face me. “You play the guitar?”

I waggled my hand. “A little.”

Zach snorted. “A little, my arse. He’s really good.”

My father grunted. “Not bad.” High praise from him.

Liam’s smile grew sly. “I’m gonna need a demonstration now.”

I groaned and elbowed Zach in the ribs. “Thanks for nothing.”

He threw me a shit-eating grin. “You’re welcome. But seriously, Liam, don’t let him brush you off. He even writes his own stuff.”

“I’m not about to let him brush me off.” Liam shot me a mischievous look that almost had me blushing again. “A songwriter as well, huh? Well, well, well. You’ve been hiding your light under a bushel, Mister Lane. Shame on you.”

His tone was the exact same one he’d used to boss me around in bed the night before, and my cock danced to attention in my jeans like the cheap hussy it was.

“Shut up, Zee.” I gave my brother a shove but all he did was laugh and shove me back—hard enough to lose my balance and stumble into the gate. When I found my feet again and turned back to give him a piece of my mind, I was stopped by the wide-eyed look on his face as he stared at my... throat.

Shit.I pulled my Swanndri back into place and levelled him with a warning glare.

He shot me the slyest of smiles before mouthing the wordlater. Then he turned back to Liam who was watching the two of us with an uneasy expression.

Zach’s gaze flicked between us and his brow creased in a frown. But my brother was nothing if not well-versed in the art of subterfuge when it came to our father, and Paddy seemed completely unaware of the exchange that had just occurred right next to him.

“So, Dad.” Zach wandered closer to our father. “What do you think of lambing season so far?”

Paddy’s discerning gaze rolled over the mob for a long second before he answered, “Too early.”
