“I do love you.” He carried me over to the bed without breaking our connection and lowered me to the mattress, falling on top of me. “More than I ever thought possible.”
He entered me slowly, kissing me with tender lips. I loosely hooked my legs around him and lifted my hips to meet him. The swelling inside my core intensified, pulsing through me and shooting between my legs.
Every muscle in him tensed, and when I screamed out my climax, he pulled back and watched as I lost myself in him. In us. Seconds later, he joined me in mutual ecstasy, releasing his hot stream inside me, filling me with all he had, and making me more determined to protect him. The same way he would protect me.
I would make him see that my sacrifice would only serve to help us in the future. He needed Nico home, and if I could make that happen, I would.
He collapsed on top of me and held me in his arms. Once his breathing returned to normal, he propped himself on his forearm and traced his finger across my lips. When he narrowed his eyes, my heart raced.
“That was incredible.” I couldn’t hold his gaze, so I did the cowardly thing and looked away to avoid him seeing my fear. “Being with you is as essential as breathing.”
“I’m going to ask you this one time, and I want an honest answer.” His steady, menacing voice sent chills down my spine. “What did you go to your father for?”
“What?” How did he know? He couldn’t know that what I was hiding had to do with my dad.
“Don’t fucking play with me.”
Having him still buried inside me while he grilled me was a little unsettling. I was at his mercy in the most intimately terrifying way. He demanded total honesty from me, and he knew how to get it.
“I…” Swallowing hard, I tried to get the words out without them sounding as ridiculous as they were.
“I have too many things on my mind to fuck around with you.” He shifted his weight, pinning me with his legs. “Do you understand? You haven’t been right since I found you at your father’s house. Tell me what it is you’ve set in motion so I can undo it.”
“You might not want to undo what I’ve done.”
“Try me.”
“I did go to my father, and I asked him for a favor.” I squirmed underneath him. “He agreed.”
“What kind of favor? What did he agree to?” He trailed his hand along my throat. “What have you done?”
“I can get your father home.” I gazed into his lethal eyes, bracing myself for his wrath. “You just have to let me.”

Marchello
Lissia’s impulseswere going to get us killed. I had allowed her to get so out of control, and now we were all going to suffer the consequences.
Why would I ever want her father’s help? That bastard tried to kill me.
“I don’t have to let you do anything,” I said.
“My father has offered us a solution.”
“What is wrong with you?” I sprung off her and sat at the edge of the bed. “What would make you think going to your father on my behalf was a good idea?”
“Didn’t you hear what I said?” She got up on her knees and draped her arms over my shoulders. “I found a way to get your dad home. Isn’t that what you want?”
“More than anything,” I mumbled. “But that isn’t something you have the power to do.”
“You’re wrong.”
“Am I?” I shook my head at her stupidity. “You can’t bring him home. What makes you arrogant enough to think you can do what I can’t?”
“I asked my father to do it.”
Wasn’t that worse? She thought her father could accomplish what I couldn’t?
