A sloppy blow job had quickly turned into her hiking up her skirt and bending over the table. She watched me over her shoulder as she slid her fingers through her slit, showing me how wet her pussy was. It didn’t take long before my dick was inside of her, and I was questioning how we got there in the first place.
I’d been with plenty of women in my life and had never met someone as determined to have sex with me as Cora. That wasthe first red flag that I should have seen had I been paying attention.
The next day, things went from good—or I guess I should saymediocre—to bad. She came into my office and closed the door before she started to unbutton her shirt. When I told her no, something inside of her snapped, and she became this evil woman that I couldn’t get rid of. I’d tried to keep things professional and keep my distance from her, but she was persistent. When I realized that she had started to become obsessed, I asked Regina to give her a raise andpromoteher to a position on Garrett’s team.
I looked at the stack of papers, the regret of that night sinking in my stomach.
“I can read through all of this, but we already know that it’s my word against hers. And honestly, given that we did have sex after hours, I don’t know any judge who isn’t going to rule in her favor. So, what options do we have at this point?” I asked, pushing the papers away from me.
“I’m working with our legal team to find out. As soon as I know, I’ll let you know,” she assured me. “Until then, I suggest keeping your head down and proceed with business as usual. Keep your office door open for any meetings you have, and if you need privacy for a client, have Eva or another attorney present for it.”
I glanced over at Garrett and found him watching me, a lack of expression on his face. I wondered if he was sitting there, judging me, thinking that his little brother had turned into a sex-crazed pervert, just like our dad. Garrett and I had never been close, probably because he was ten years older than me, but I always felt like he resented me for something I wasn’t even aware of.
I blew out a breath and thought about how all of this could blow up in my face even further if anyone found out about meand Eva. What had happened with Cora was a mistake, and I regretted it as soon as it happened. I wasn’t the kind of guy who ever mixed business and pleasure. With so much at stake in the lawsuit with Cora, I couldn’t risk anyone finding out what had happened between Eva and me.
The problem was that with Eva, it was different. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t stay away from her, and that scared the shit out of me.

Eva
Ethan had been tied up the majority of the morning in a meeting with Regina and Garrett, so I hadn’t had a chance to check in with him to see what he needed me to help with. I sat at my desk and checked my emails. There were a few office updates from Regina, an offer for a beauty product that would make me look ten years younger, and a pill that could increase the size of my penis. I deleted the spam emails and allowed my mouse to hover over the email that promised to make me look younger. It couldn’t hurt...
By noon, I had expected Ethan to make it back to his office, but he hadn’t. I debated on whether I should take my lunch so I wasn’t just sitting around on the clock, twiddling my fingers. But what if he needed something from me when he got back, and I wasn’t there? I opened a new browser on my computer and began looking at food delivery options when I saw a woman walk down the hallway toward his office.
I pushed away from my desk and straightened my skirt before walking out to greet her. I had no idea if he was expecting a client today, but since Kate wasn’t at her desk, I didn’t want to let someone in his office while he wasn’t there.
“Hi, can I help you?” I asked, pulling her attention to me as she turned around.
She was downright stunning, with olive-toned skin and long, silky black hair that flowed down her back. She tilted her head to the side for a moment, studying me before she spoke.
“You’re not Cora,” she said matter-of-factly.
“No, ma’am. I’m Eva.” I extended my hand and waited for her to shift the box in her hand to her hip before she reached over and shook it.
“Mr. Roberts is in a meeting. Is there something that I can help you with?” I asked, watching as she turned around and put the box on his desk. It was neatly covered in red wrapping paper with a black bow fixed to the top of it. She pulled back and looked at it before reaching over and straightening it so it was lined up perfectly in front of his computer.
“I want to make sure he sees it,” she said as she laughed and nodded at the box.
“I’ll make sure he sees it,” I assured her with a smile.
It was apparent that she knew him and that she was comfortable making herself at home in his office as she sat down at his desk and straightened the stack of papers on the side of it. I didn’t know what to do at that point.
“Hello, Mom,” Ethan said as he gently touched the small of my back and slid in beside me. He walked over and hugged her as she extended her arms to him.
“Happy birthday,” she said cheerfully, cupping his cheeks with her hands.
I smiled and lowered my head, giving them privacy as I turned and went back to my office. I sat behind my desk, scrolling through the list of food options that I had started looking at before she came in, while occasionally letting my eyes wander to his office.
I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but I felt butterflies in my stomach when I saw how much his eyes lit up as he laughed at whatever she had said. Her hand held onto his arm for a few minutes as she continued with her story, followed by more laughter that flowed out of his office and softly flitteredthrough mine. I felt guilty for watching them, even though I was trying not to.
Unsure of what to do, I got up to check in with Kate, frowning when I realized she wasn’t back yet. My stomach growled, reminding me that I needed to eat. I still had the option of ordering food for delivery, but that would require me to go back to my office, which I was now trying to avoid. I could leave and go grab something but I had left my purse and wallet in my desk, so that wasn’t an option either. I walked around aimlessly for a few minutes, wandering through the halls before I heard Ethan’s voice coming toward me.
When I looked up, I saw him walking with his mom down the hallway to the lobby where the elevators were located. Once they rounded the corner and were out of sight, I made a beeline back to my office. A few minutes later, I heard Ethan coming, so I forced myself to look busy while I scrolled through the different Chinese food delivery options.
My stomach was still a little queasy, and I had since developed a strong addiction to chicken noodle soup. However, I could easily be persuaded to devour a bowl of egg drop soup if that meant that I got food in me faster. There were only two restaurants close by that served chicken noodle soup, and their estimated wait time for delivery was forty-five minutes, whereas there were fifteen Chinese food vendors that could deliver to me within ten minutes.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” Ethan asked as he leaned against my door and crossed one ankle over the other. He looked devilishly handsome in his fitted suit, which showed what I assumed was a perfect body underneath.
