“Makes you happy, huh?”

Lying back down, she nodded. “It’s so good, isn’t it?’

“Fucking fantastic. I’ve never had better and there’s a reason for that, Willa and it’s something you can’t deny.”

When she pushed against him to sit up, hewouldn’t let her. He held her to his chest.

“Let me up,” she growled.

“No, because you are not going to get pissed off and storm out of here. Damn it, Willa. I want you to stay here with me, and I don’t just mean tonight.”

“I told you that wasn’t going to happen.” She pushed against him again and rolled out of the bed.

“I’m in love with you, damn it,” he shouted as he swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood with his hands on his hips.

She did all she could to keep her eyes off his dick.

She hissed in a breath. “No. You can’t be.”

“The hell I can’t. You think I wanted this? I’ve been in love before, but it never felt like this and I want you to stay with me. Don’t go back to Hollywood.”

Willa stared at him. “You can’t be serious, Devin. I live and work there.”

“I’m asking you to stay with me here, Willa.”

Shaking her head, she stared up at him. This can’t be happening.“I’m sorry…”

Devin stared at her. “I thought we had something.”

“We did. We had sex. That’s all it was. You knew that.”

“Willa.” He walked toward her and cupped her face in his hands. “I’m in love with you.”

“No, you’re not. You’re just infatuated with me, Devin.” She watched his jaw clench.

“I’m not some damn teenager. I’m a grown man. I love you. Stay with me.”

“I’m not staying. I’m leaving with Rocky.”

“You can stand there and tell me you’re not in love with me?”

This was the last thing she wanted—to hurt him. But it couldn’t be helped. There was no way on earth that she’d ever admit it to him, even though she loved him more than she thought it possible to love anyone.

Not taking her eyes from his, she nodded her head. Pushing harder against him, he finally let her go. She stared at him and knew what she had to do.

“Devin, I won’t stay here.”

“Why not? You can’t tell me you don’t feel something for me—unless you fuck every man who comes along.”

She didn’t think, only reacted. She slapped him then put her hand over her mouth in shock that she had. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to slap you.”

Devin stared at her and she watched him close his eyes and take a deep breath, then look at her. “Yes, you did, and I deserved it. I shouldn’t have said that but damn it, you keep denying what’s between us.”

Glancing around, she found her clothes and shoes then put them on. “There isnothingbetween us that can last.”

“So, I was just a good fuck while you were here?” He pulled his jeans and T-shirt on. “It’s fine to fuck with a younger man but not fine to spend your life with him.”

“I didn’t want to get involved with you––”
