“We’re coming with you,” Damon says, voice low and fierce. “We’re not letting you out of our sight.”
CHAPTER34
LENA
One Year Later
My hands tremble as I clutch the bouquet, the delicate white veil fluttering against my face with each anxious breath. The wedding march begins, and my stomach ties itself into knots as tight as the ones my alphas will give me later tonight.
I shouldn’t be this nervous.
These alphas have seen every inch of me, claimed every part of me, and even fathered my beautiful babies—but walking toward them now, about to become officially theirs forever, has my omega instincts in complete overdrive.
“Ready?” my sister Carmen asks, squeezing my arm gently.
I nod, unable to form words as we take our first step onto the petal-strewn aisle.
The setting sun casts a warm orange glow over Howl’s Edge Island, transforming the simple outdoor ceremony into something magical. Rows of white chairs fan out on either side of us, filled with people whose faces blur together through my veil. I can only focus on the three tall figures waiting for me at the altar.
“Oh God.”
“Breathe, Lena,” Carmen whispers.
“I’ll try,” I whisper back, my voice little more than a squeak. “This doesn’t feel real.”
The gentle breeze carries the scent of ocean salt and wildflowers, mingling with the unmistakable alpha pheromones emanating from the front of the aisle. Even from this distance, my body responds instinctively to my mates, a rush of warmth spreading between my thighs as memories of their touches flash through my mind.
My thoughts drift to just months ago when my family flew to D.C. after hearing about the birth of the quadruplets. I’d been terrified they’d judge me for disappearing, for the relationship with the three new alphas, and for the mess my life had become after Zorin.
But the moment Carmen stepped into the hospital room, tears streaming down her face, all those fears dissolved.
“Oh, Lena,” she’d whispered, reaching for one of the tiny bundles in my arms. “They’re perfect.”
Mom had followed, then Francine, all of them cooing over the babies while eyeing my three hovering alphas with a mixture of curiosity and caution.
Damon had been the first to win them over, his protective stance softening as he explained how they had found me, cared for me, and loved me. Max had made them laugh with stories of my pregnancy cravings, while Gunnar demonstrated his devotion through silent vigilance, always watching me and the babies.
And now, here we are a year later at my wedding, my family fully supporting me as they walk me toward the rest of my life.
“I’m freaking out,” I admit to Carmen, my legs wobbling beneath my flowing white dress.
Carmen slows our pace slightly, her fingers tightening around mine.
“Listen to me, Lena. Those alphas up there? They worship the ground you walk on. I’ve watched them with you and the babies. They’re nothing like Zorin.”
The name sends an electric shock through my system, memories of cruel treatment flooding back.
“I know.”
“Zorin broke you,” Carmen continues, her voice fierce but quiet. “But Damon and his pack put you back together. They won’t hurt you like he did. I wouldn’t be giving you away if I thought otherwise.”
I swallow hard, focusing on the three figures coming into clearer view with each step.
My alphas. My protectors. My mates.
“I know they wouldn’t hurt me,” I whisper as I lock eyes with Damon, my heart stopping at the intensity of his gaze.
“Besides,” Carmen adds with a small smile, “if they ever tried anything, I’d rip their throats out myself.”
