“Why, Lena?”

“We just met.”

“It doesn’t matter. You’re an omega, and I’m an alpha,” he says. “If I see you in heat, I go into a rut. That’s all there is to it. And well… if all goes well, you’ll carry our baby.”

“Nope, it isn’t possible,” I say, shaking my head. In all my years with my old pack, they were never able to impregnate me successfully, so I wasn’t worried about that. Zorin deemed me unworthy and useless in his eyes when I never got pregnant.

But I’ve never been in heat with them.

Worry starts to rise within me.

“What makes you say that?” asks Gunnar, pushing himself deeper into me, locking us together even more. “Because I know my cock will make you pregnant.”

“I would like to know too,” says Damon gruffly as he stretches on my other side, stroking his cock and watching as Max squeezes my breasts. The little storage room is dusty and small, so these massive alphas fill every space surrounding me with their scents.

“I never got pregnant with my old pack,” I explain. “That’s all.”

“You had a pack?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” I say quickly, my heartbeat rising.

“Why did you hide your true nature, Lena? Why go to all the trouble of scent blockers and inhibitors?” asks Damon, not letting it go.

I shrug, trying to decide on the best answer to give.

“I wanted to live a peaceful life without the trouble of alphas,” I say, hoping this explanation will suffice.

“Why? An omega needs a pack,” Max says, frowning. “And I like you already.”

“Besides, how on earth do you think you'll survive during your heat?” Gunnar asks. “This is a prime example of why we need each other.”

“Yes, but I’m not looking to have a permanent pack right now,” I say, looking away from the three shocked alphas.

I don’t care that they think I’m a weird omega. Why can’t they understand the concept of a good time without getting attached forever as mates?

CHAPTER7

Lena

The next morning, a loud rumble of thunder wakes me from my sleep, and I sit up in the darkness of the storage room.

At first, I’m confused and disorientated at finding myself in the library.

My belly immediately clenches in pain, and I look around wildly, seeing the three alphas sprawled all over the floor around me. They’re all naked, and my eyes roam over their gorgeous forms hungrily. The memories of the past night flood through me, making me blush.

I look over at Damon, the pack leader.

I can’t help but stare at his muscles, fascinated by how they flex and relax with his breathing. My heart pounds faster, and I stretch out a tentative hand to trace along the contours of his body.

“Do you like what you see?”

I jump at the sound of his voice, looking up to see him watching me through half-lidded eyes, a sleepy smile in place.

“I’m sorry,” I whisper. “I didn’t mean to wake you.”

“Not at all. Come here,” he opens his arms for me, and I cuddle into his chest, snuggling closer when more thunder sounds.

“It’s just a bit of thunder, darling,” he soothes when I flinch against him. “Nothing to worry about. I’ve got you.”
