“Are you serious?” I asked. My tummy fluttered with excitement. Scared but so damned happy.

“I am.”

“What about your car? Your work? Your family?”

William, my sweet and gorgeous mate, shrugged. “I don’t know? I’m just working out what to do to make a living. So far, I’ve just been helping with the family business a bit. And my parents will understand. We’ll go visit. If we go our separate ways, there’s a chance we will repeat history, and I don’t know about you, but that’s a history I never want to live again. Ever. We’ll figure it all out.”

“There might be an empty seat on my flight. We could be in my place in hours.”

“Are you saying I can come home with you, alpha? Live with you? Are you okay with that?”

I dragged him to me and kissed him like I might not ever kiss him again. “Okay? Okay? Let’s go get your stuff. Those questions are not even valid. I didn’t know how I was going to leave you and now I don’t have to. Let’s go.”

We rounded up William’s things upstairs and stopped to say goodbye to Franklin.

“You’re leaving together?” he asked with a bright smile.

“We are,” my omega answered. I would’ve done anything to keep that smile on his face. He was excited and eager for us to start our new life together, and how could I blame him for that?

“I’m so glad.”

“We can’t thank you enough for reuniting us at this beautiful inn. We would’ve lived our lives never knowing the truth if not for you. Thank you, Franklin.” I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. One weekend had flipped my life upside down in the best way possible. Fate surely had a plan. I might not understand her ways, but we worked out, William and me.

“You’re very welcome, but going to miss your flight.”

We both hugged Franklin and got into the airport car together, leaving mine with Franklin for the time being. “If I pressured you or pushed you into this—” William started, but I soon silenced him with a kiss. Apparently, we were going to shock every driver in the tri-state area with our PDA.

“Sweetheart, you are not pushing me into anything.” His eyes were still closed, but a smile played on his mouth. I was glad I’d still retained the ability to kiss him senseless. Some things never changed.

“Tell me everything.”

On the way to the airport, we talked about one of his brothers packing up his things and sending the necessities to him. He made a list on his phone as we spoke, turning it into a checklist. He was too damned adorable for his own good. He’d have his car trucked over.

The driver dropped us off at the airport and we went to the counter. “Hello, I have a ticket on the next flight, but is there any chance there’s another seat available? I’ll pay whatever.”

“I can pay for it,” William said.

While the person typed things in, trying to answer my request, I turned to my omega. “It’s my pleasure to pay for you to come home with me. No arguments, okay? Not on this.”

“Okay.”

“We have one seat available. It’s actually right next to the one you booked. How lucky are you two?”

I purchased the ticket, but we still had a bit of a wait.

“What else do we need to decide?” I asked.

“Well.” His face fell. “There’s something very important we need to hash out before I get on that plane. If we can’t settle this, then I’m out.”

“What is it?” My stomach dropped. Every anxious thought came barreling back in through my mind.

“What side of the bed do you sleep on?” Seriousness turned into laughter.

“Are you stuck on one side?”

He shrugged. “Yeah, whatever side is right next to you.” He kissed me quickly. “I was just kidding. Too soon?”

I held up my pointer finger and thumb, separating them by an inch. “Just a bit. I thought you were serious and that you…well, a lot of things went through my head.”
