“Something…good?” Kade pries.

I laugh. “Yes, Kade, something good,” I assure him.

“Kewllll…well, maybe a night off will help get the creative juices flowing,” he says. I shake my head at his use of “kewl,” which is such a Harry-term.

I groan. When Kade gets something in his mind, he doesn’t take no for an answer. I know fighting him on this is pointless.

“Fine, what time?” I ask.

“I’ll be over in forty-five minutes.”

“I’m at a—” I start.

“I know, a hotel,” he finishes. Of course, he knows because Lark is the most efficient assistant on the planet.

“Right,” I respond.

“Peace out, Girl Scout,” he says as he ends the call.

I close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose. I really shouldn’t go out with Kade, but I do need some bonding time with him and Harry.

I quickly get ready. I go through the clothes I packed, cursing myself that I didn’t let Lark or Maria pack for me. I hate admitting that they are better at this, but they are.

I grab a nicer pair of jeans and a button-down. I style my hair and head down to the lobby when I get the text from Kade that he’s waiting for me.

“Hey, man, lookin’ good,” he says with a laugh as he pulls out onto the street.

“Hey, Linc,” Savannah says from the back seat. Savannah’s a good person. I know for a fact she was probably sitting up here and moved when they got to the hotel, so I could sit by Kade. She’s thoughtful like that.

“Hey,” I say as I turn to face her, and she leans forward to kiss my cheek.

“You do look good,” she says with a warm smile.

“Thanks, Sav. So, where are we going?”

“Well, there’s this new beach club that opened up not far from here. It’s got beach volleyball, a fun outdoor bar, and an inside and outside dance area. I thought we’d go check it out,” Kade says as he looks in his rearview mirror. I turn and see the car behind us and groan. Security.

“Couldn’t ditch ’em, eh?” I ask him.

“Honestly? I like to have them, Lincoln. We’ve reached that status, it’s not safe to go just anywhere without them. Especially a nightclub,” he says.

I roll my eyes. “Fine, what about Harry and Amelia?”

“Meeting us there,” he says. So, that’s basically code for they are having a shagfest and will catch up with us later when they finish their after-sex nap.

“So, how’s Operation Capture the Birdie going?” Kade asks once we are at the bar and settled with drinks. I groan, and Savannah laughs.

“He told me,” Savannah admits with a “sorry not sorry” grin.

“Of course, he did,” I grit out as I give Kade a look.

Kade shrugs. “You know I can’t keep shit from Savannah.”

I sigh. “I don’t know. She’s out with Coop and Mason,” I say as I take a sip of my beer.

“You should text her, see if she wants to come here later,” Savannah suggests.

“Nah, if she wanted to hang out with me, she would have asked,” I say. Savannah’s about to say something else when Harry and Amelia walk up to us.
