Pulling the helmet off, I go to hand it back to him as he pulls his off, too, and says, "Keep it. I'll come pick you up today after your classes are over."

"Practice," I remind him.

"Oh yeah," he says. "Just shoot me a text when you're ready, and I'll be here."

"Okay," I tell him. Closing the distance between us, I grab the front of his jacket and yank him to me as I slam my lips against his. To his surprise, I've got total control, even going as far as being the first to part lips and use my tongue to my advantage. His free hand grabs the same cheek he smacked a short while ago and squeezes.

When I go to back away, he gives it another smack and watches me through lust-filled, half-lidded eyes.

"You're my hero today," I tell him, walking backward. "Thank you."

I'm rewarded with a smile that has me understanding why he's in front of the lens so often. "I'll see you soon, babe."

JAMESON

I hadn't planned on coming out first thing this morning, but when I'd seen Marnie accidentally streaking through the apartment this morning, I knew she was running late, and my bike is a lot quicker than the cars. I'd set my glass of juice down and went to throw some clothes on. She had beat me back out which takes talent since all I had to grab was jeans and my boots.

She'd been so determined to make it to class on time that she hadn't even noticed until we were right up on my bike. The slight tinge of her fear sparked this protective instinct that I haven't felt since my twin and I were small. It's why I teased her a bit to get her loose. But I didn't even have to worry about it. Should've known, because she fits us in every other way, but the girl was a natural. Didn't shy away from the curves and didn't tighten her hold on me when I pushed the limits on speed on the highway.

Then she goes and kisses my brain right out of my skull. I'm still dazed as I pull into the garage and make my way up to the apartment. I don't even remember the ride home.

As I walk in, I find my brother, Raine, and Kinkaid sitting at the table.

"I put your glass in the fridge," Emerson tells me.

I turn on autopilot and take it out to chug it before setting the glass in the sink. Putting my keys on the counter, I strip my jacket off and lay it there, too.

"Everything good?" my twin asks, drawing the others’ attention to me.

"I'm not sure," I answer honestly.

"What do you mean?" Raine asks gruffly. "Is Marnie okay?"

"She kissed me, man," I admit to them.

Confusion wars on my twin's face as Kinkaid is already smirking, looking ready to laugh.

Raine is the only one still concerned. Whether it's for her or my mental health, I'm not sure as he states, "Come again."

"She manhandled me and kissed the shit out of me," I confess.

Emerson is the first to start laughing and Kinkaid quickly follows him. After a few seconds, Raine joins them, and I throw my hands up in the air.

Luckily, I'm saved further ridicule by Grady walking out of his room and into the kitchen. He's half naked and looks like a man who got fucked good. I can't help but wonder if that's the expression I was wearing today.

"Did I hear something about God in your room last night?" Raine teases.

"You sure did," Grady replies, taking it in stride. "You've got your work cut out for you living up to that, boys."

The hyenas start cackling again.

"I'm thinking about taking her on an extreme date like bungee jumping or something," I tell them randomly as I think it.

"No!" Grady barks. It doesn't have the alpha tone behind it, but his beta bark can be just as scary.

"You didn't see her today," I argue. "She was so scared at first but took to the bike like I've never seen. She's perfect."

"I'll agree with you on the last bit, but I'm telling you, she's not ready for something like that. Please don't."
