Thunder rumbles in the sky, and rain lashes the ground around our covered area. We kiss and kiss under the shelter of the picnic area, alone in our own little world.

Cupid barks. Once, then twice, then on repeat. Graham drags his lips from mine and blinks down at Cupid.

“What is it, boy?”

Cupid trots to the edge of the cement pad and sits facing the park. The rain has cleared, and a mist fills the air. A double rainbow splits the Carolina blue sky.

“Do you believe in signs?” I gesture at the perfect double arch.

Graham stares at it, then looks down at me, a smile in his eyes. “That’s got to mean something.”

I slide my arms around his neck and pull him back for another kiss. “We made magic.”

He drops another one of those bomb kisses on my mouth before easing back to put a few inches between our lips. “Come home with me.”

With the kiss still sizzling between us, we grab Cupid and race through the misting rain to my car. He and Cupid walked, but it’s quicker to drive, and for me it seems like the safer option. If anything goes sideways, I’m in the driver’s seat. I can get out just as fast as I got in.

In no time, we reach Graham’s tidy bungalow in the oldest section of town. The houses sit far back from the street on swatches of manicured lawns dotted with blossoming trees.

“It’s the white brick one at the end of the street.” Graham gestures to a bungalow with a wide front porch.

Cupid presses his nose to the window and wags his furry tail. He knows home when he sees it.

Graham waits until I’ve come to a stop before reaching across the console to cup my face. He kisses me softly.

I melt.

Here’s the soft. Here’s the sweet. I knew he had this in him.

“No pressure.” He eases back, looks into my eyes. “You don’t have to come in.”

My heart sinks. “What if I want to?” The breathless quality of my voice makes it clear that oh yes, I want to. Idefinitelywant to.

“If you come in, I’m not going to stop with kissing.”

The butterflies in my stomach take flight. “What are you going to do?”

He leans forward, kissing my lips, then my chin, then my neck. “I’m going to start with kissing.” His lips slide over my skin, causing a riot of sensations. “I’ll kiss every inch of you.”

My breath catches in my throat. “And then?”

He uses his teeth on my shoulder, biting softly. “I’m going to get you so wet, Mara.”

If only he knew, he’s already accomplished that goal. But I want him to keep talking. It’s doing something delicious to every nerve ending in my body. The pound, pound, pound of my heart fills my ears.

“Go on.”

“Then, I’m going to fuck you so hard you won’t know what happened. All night long.”

I suck in a sharp breath as his words loosen every inhibition I had left. “Let’s get inside.”

We race up to the house, Cupid leading the way. Graham unlocks the front door, and we rush inside. But we don’t make it far. As soon as the door is open, Graham presses me against the closed door and kisses me again.

The slow, drugging kiss makes my heart race and my blood heat. Graham eases the jacket off my shoulders, letting it fall to the ground. His hands slide under the hem of my shirt, and his fingers trail over my belly.

Lust simmers on a slow boil as he glides his hands up my belly, stopping just under the swell of my breasts.

“I’ve thought of nothing but you since I met you.” He teases my nipples through my bra with a flick of his thumbs. “I want to fill my hands with your gorgeous breasts and push my dick deep inside you.”
