I kick him while he’s down—literally—breaking the back of the chair and the seat apart. Grabbing the seat, I wiggle it free and toss it to the side. He tries to get away, but it’s not that easy since his feet are tied together at his ankles.

“Not so fast.” I kneel down on the back of his calves and he starts to flop around like a fish out of water. “It’s okay,” I coo, just like he would to me. “It will all be over soon.” I grab at the waistband of his pants and pull them down.

Grabbing one of his severed hands, I bring it to his backside, where I proceed to shove it up his ass.

“Shut the fuck up,” I snarl. “And take it like a good little whore.”

I’m in a good mood, covered in blood and hungry as I drive over to Salvation.

Slamming the door shut, I stop, tilt my head back with my eyes closed, and breathe deeply. It’s a nice day and warm with just enough of a breeze to keep you from overheating.

“Thanks, Joe,” I say to the tall man with blond hair decked out in black gear as I toss him the keys to the car. It’s one of Duchess’s, so it will need to be cleaned and ready to be used again.

“It’s Bo,” he grumbles, grabbing the keys out of the air.

“Sure, sure.” I pat his shoulder as I pass him.

I’m whistling as I walk inside, vibrating with good feelings and a smile that can’t be wiped free.

I haven't seen my besties since I’ve been bonded, so when I see them, I skip over and stop before them.

“See anything different?” I hum, leaning in to show them my neck.

“Ahh, you’re covered in blood?” Duchess asks.

“No,” I grumble, shooting her a glare. “The bite mark.” I point out aggressively.

“Ohhhh that.” She winks, and I know she’s just fucking with me. She gives me an exaggerated whistle. “Damn, Savvy, that’s a nice bite.”

“Right?” I grin widely.

“I’m happy for you,” Lucy says, smiling brightly. “You look so happy.”

“I am,” I sigh wistfully. “Having sex will do that to you.”

“Damnnnn.” Duchess laughs. “My girl lost her V-card. Nice. How was it?” She holds her hand up. “Wait. If it was with Caleb, I don't wanna know.”

“It wasn’t. It was Jake.” I laugh. “And it was amazing. The best. Way better than porn.”

“It usually is,” Lucy laughs.

After I clean off the blood, I hang out with the girls and tell them all about the past few days.

It’s crazy that I’ve been with them for over a week. I thought the adjustment would be harder, but honestly, I feel at home. Like it’s where I was always meant to be.

I miss being at Salvation, but I know I’m where I belong.

After leaving the girls, I decide to go grab a coffee. Walker is working a night shift, so I won’t get to see him.Sad.

Jake isn’t supposed to be done with work until six because it’s the first day, and he said he might have to stay late for a meeting.

And Caleb is working some big case at work, so he won’t be home anytime soon.

So, I’m going to pick up some lunch for me and Leroy and hang out with him and Little Bug.

Every day I spend with her, I feel less and less guilty, like my heart is accepting that my baby boy would have wanted me to be happy. To give my love to someone who needs it.

And I love Athena. I really do. She’s the sweetest little girl. Such a good baby.
