Page 31 of Deadly Sweet

“Okay.” I nod my head. “I can do this.”

“Fuck yeah, you can. You’re Savvy Banks, baby.” She laughs, and I grin. I think it’s safe to say Duchess and I are besties now. She loves me. How can she not? I’m fucking awesome.

And I have a lady boner for her.But shh, don’t tell her Omega that. It’s not in a sexual way. I just really admire the fuck out of her.

Okay, so maybe watching her kill turns me on just a little bit, too. But it’s a perfectly normal reaction to a situation like that. I shouldn't be blamed for it.

Hanging up the phone, I pocket my knife and my phone. “Alright, Roddy. Time to go for a little ride.”

Grabbing the back of the chair, I drag him out from behind his desk. Thank fuck the chair has wheels, making it easier to move him.

It’s not without any effort because I’m literally carrying dead weight, but if I pull him backwards, his legs don’t get in the way.

I make it down the hall and over to the stairwell that leads to the back of the building. We’re on the second floor, so thankfully it’s only one flight of stairs. Opening the door to the stairwell, I look down. The space is lit up by a dim light.

“How the fuck am I going to get you down there?” I mutter. I turn to Rodney. “Any ideas?” I wait, but get no answer. “No? Nothing?” I sigh. “You're no help.”

I look from him, to the stairs, and back to him. “Fuck it,” I say before pushing him.

The chair goes flying, his body tumbling with it. I watch as his body bounces around like a ping-pong ball before landing at the end of the stairs with a loud crash.

“Bonus points for saving time,” I tell myself, laughing as I rush down after him. Grabbing the chair, I use it to prop the door open before going back in and grabbing Rodney by the arms. “Alright, let's go,” I tell him, yanking on his arms and grunting when I only get him like an inch. “Are you fucking kidding me, Roddy!” I groan as I use all my energy to pull him slowly out the door. “You know, it’s rude to make a sweet little Omega like me do all the heavy lifting,” I mutter, breaking out into a sweat.

The sounds that leave me are not ladylike. I’d say they’re a mix between a pig grunting and a dying cat.Don’t judge me, you come carry a three hundred pound dead man and tell me it’s not hard.

I manage to get him into the back alley, and I feel like my lungs are screaming at me.

“Finally,” I sigh heavily, letting his arms drop to the ground with a thud. I stand up straight, brushing my hair out of my face as I catch my breath. “I think this counts as my cardio for the day.”

Turning to take in my surroundings, I look around before pausing, eyes going wide when I see four men standing at the end of the alley.

I’m too far away to see their expressions, but no one’s screaming, so that's a good sign, right?

“Hey, boys.” I put on a beaming smile, sliding to the side in an attempt to block Rodney’s body, nearly tripping over his arm. I curse, glare down at him, and kick his arm behind me before lifting my smiling face back up to the guys. “There’s nothing to see here.”
