“What can I get you?” a young girl asks, giving me a polite smile. Right away, I know something isn’t right.

She’s pretty. Tall, with long dark hair and tanned skin.

“What's your deal?” I ask, raising a brow.

She blinks at me, but I see the way she swallows. “I’m sorry, I don’t know what you mean.”

I lean forward in my seat and beckon her closer with my finger. “Don’t bullshit me. You and I both know you're nothing like these people, so spill.” I could be wrong, but call it a gut instinct.

“Fine.” She blows out a breath. “I work here to piss off my Alpha.” She grins. “He hates stuffy, rich, old people. He said I couldn’t get a job either. So, I got a job with stuffy, old, rich people.”

A grin spreads across my face. “I fucking love it. Sounds like something I’d do. Althoug,h I like my Alphas, you don’t?”

“Fuck no,” she snorts. “He’s a raging asshole.”

“Need me to kill him?” I whisper, looking her dead in the eye. “I can, just say the word.”

Her eyes widen. “Ahhhh... no,” she laughs. “Thanks, though. If I want him dead, I’ll just do it myself.” She winks. “I low key love it, and I live to piss him off. It makes the sex hotter. Hate sex is the best.”

“Ahhh.” I nod, finding myself wanting to know a lot more about this Omega. “What’s your name?”

“Jessie,” she answers, pointing to her name tag and I cock a brow. “Okay, fine, Nova.”

Holding out my hand, I smile. “Nice to meet you, Nova. I’m Savvy. What is the least sad-tasting food on this menu?”

She laughs. “I think I can hook you up.”

After Nova spends herbreak sitting here, sharing a plate of wings with me, she has to leave to go back to work.

But not before giving me her number.

Sadly, she’s not expected to stay around very long. She’s here for a few months at her pack's vacation house nearby. I still plan on hanging out with her while I can.

Her story is an interesting one. Don’t think I'd be able to meet her Alpha, Nick. I’d most likely stab him with the description she gave of him, but Ian reminds me a lot of Caleb. I could see the two of them getting along.

It’s been long enough, right? I’m sure Leroy is itching to get out of here. And honestly, I want to go home.

Maybe it’s the wings, or the sun beaming down on me, but I feel a little funny.

Making sure to leave Nova a big tip, I head inside the club to use the washroom and cool down a bit.

When I’m done, I dip into the restaurant area to grab a bottle of water to go.

As I’m waiting, I hear Leroy’s name.

“I can’t believe he showed up here,” someone snorts in laughter.

Looking over, I find some blonde chick sitting with a group of girls at the bar.

“Why did Eli even invite him?” The redhead next to her asks.

“I have no idea. They don’t get along. Leroy is the family reject. Not only that, he brought an Omega with him.” She laughs again. “Eli thinks she’s just some hired Omega for the day to try and prove to the family he’s better than what he is.”

“Wow. That's honestly sad,” the redhead says sympathetically. And I want to slap her.

But the blond? Oh, I want to fucking wrap my hands around her stupid throat and choke her.

“It’s pathetic, is what it is. He came up with this bad, unbelievable lie, too. Eli’s been texting me the whole time.” She shows the phone to her friends and they start to giggle.
