Page 29 of Going Home

No matter what Lex goes through, she's always been his biggest supporter. "You know, I think I'm going to have to buy you a cheerleader outfit to go with these pep talks you always give."

"As long as I look good in the skirt, I'll wear it. For you."

"I can't wait to fuck you with that new patch."

"I'll wear whatever you want, Mr. President. Hell, I might even dress up like Marilyn. Really play it up for you."

Licking his lips, he chuckles. "This is going to be a lot of fun."

"Oh! Who are you picking to replace our dads?"

Her excitement is infectious, and this is exactly what he hoped would happen when he told her. "Well, Ky and I always had dreams of heading up the table. We always assumed it was nothing more than a dream because of Tripp, but Jennings says he doesn't want it. Avery's not in the position to support him and the club in the capacity needed."

"But I am?"

"Baby, if you were born a dude, you'd have taken over by now. And let's be honest and just admit that you're one the biggest reasons it was even offered to me. Jennings said you'd tell me if I'm being stupid, and I'll actually listen to you."

Chuckling, Lex taps his face. "That's cute. You think you listen to me."

"I always listen to you. I just wasn't always the best at accepting it before. You're one of the only people I trust to that level."

"And what about Sergeant at Arms? Who do you think you'll pick for that spot?"

He bites his lip. "That's a great question. I've been thinking about a few strategies there, and I might want to pick people who love you more than they like me because it means they'll do whatever it takes to make sure I get home to you."

"So, that's a no on my brother being in the running?" she asks with a half-smile.

"Oh, he's in the running. In the running to be stabbed repeatedly with a rusty butter knife," he says. "Undertaker is someone to consider. He's new still, but he would make one hell of an impact in meetings."

She makes a questionable face and says, "I know I joke a lot about him being swoon-worthy, but I don't think he's quite got the temperament for what you need on both the right and left side of you. He's more of a doer, not a leader."

Damn, if she doesn't have them all pegged correctly. "Who do you think?"

"I think you know who I think because you do, too. Your gut told you from the start, and you should trust it."

"My gut tells me to patch you in as the first female member."

"No, that would never work. I'd be too much of a distraction. Plus, it would get really awkward out on runs. I can't pee in the middle of nowhere as easily as you guys can. No matter how much I want to pee standing up, it's just not possible without that funnel thing, which I find really gross."

He laughs and kisses her forehead. "Okay, okay."

"Go with your gut, baby. It won't steer you wrong."

"Promise?"

Her body shifts to rub along his groin, and he never ceases to be surprise at how easily they can turn the other on. "I promise, Mr. President."

Growling, he kisses her and says, "I need to take you in a bed. Really show you how much you mean to me."

"Yes, please," she says.

They gather their clothes and hurry inside, covering up just enough not to get caught naked by any of the minors. Lex is proud of him. She believes in him, and with her by his side, he can do this. And he will. If nothing else, he'll do it just to see her wearing his President leather and nothing else.
