“No idea, but now I knowyoucan. It’s pretty um, distinctive.”
She honestly wasn’t sure how she felt about it. Was she supposed to be pleased or embarrassed? She just shook her head. “It was really intense when it hit. There was a rushing in my ears and—did I faint?”
He shook his head. “I don’t think so. You were blitzed though, mumbling and out of it for a few minutes. How are you feeling now?”
“Like my muscles have turned to spaghetti. Worn out.”
“That’s too bad, since we’re not done yet.” Sam’s lip quirked at one side and he wiggled both eyebrows at her.
She could feel a low throbbing ache deep inside. It had been so good, so satisfying, but also aggressive and a bit rough. She wasn’t sure she wanted a round two just yet. “I’m a little sore inside.”
“Don’t worry sweetheart.” He reached up to push her hair back out of her face, grinning. “We’ll give your poor pussy some rest. I’m going in the backdoor and it will go nicely with the punishment you wanted.”
She couldn’t help squirming. Just the word punishment did that to her. “I was only playing. I don’t reallywantto be punished, Daddy.” She knew she didn’t sound convincing.
There were mixed emotions running through her. On one hand she was a little sore, and while she had come to enjoy their anal play, especially when couched as funishment, she was also tired now.
But on the other hand, it had been a while since Sam had played liked this. She’d been craving this more than she’d realized.
Sex, sure; they might have sex a little less than they had when they’d first gotten back together—but that was normal. It was still satisfying and fulfilling. Three or four times a week they’d tumble into bed and explore each other’s bodies until they were exhausted.
But there had been notably less dominance involved and more of the gentle kind of lovemaking. Charlie loved those gentle nights with their quiet passion, but she did miss the more frantic intensity of the sessions when Sam really took charge with an iron grip.
The hair grabbing, shoved up against the wall kind of excitement had definitely decreased in the past few months. But now… now Sam seemed to be hitting his stride in this too and she was eager.
“Too bad, Charlie girl. I gave you the chance and you justhadto be a smart ass. Now you’re just going to have to take the consequences.” He chuckled and his hand glided down to her left breast. He tweaked the nipple just enough to make her gasp.
The small shock of pain seemed connected to her clit with an invisible line and there was a responding pulse that made her think she wasn’t quite as satiated as she’d thought. She was also intrigued by what he had in mind.
“If this is what you call a preliminary, I’m not sure I’ll survive the main event in a week,” she said. There was a complaining tone to the words that was completely fake. She was loving this.
He didn’t reply but winked at her and then sat up. “You need a little downtime first? Some water? You were really out of it for a few minutes and I’m not in a rush.”
That last word caught her attention—rushing.
That’s what it was. That was the whole problem. All those missing aspects came directly from the fact that even their sex life felt rushed lately. He wasn’t neglecting his job as her Daddy he was just trying to fit it in around everything else.
She got her ass smacked when she was a little too out of line—but it was short and sharp. They had sex and it was satisfying, but there was always a feeling that they should hurry so they could get to sleep afterward, before it grew too late.
It felt like Sam’s meager reserves were saved up and dispensed in little bursts. It was temporarily satisfying but never quite enough.
“I’m going to be glad when we don’t have to rush anymore. Sam…” She struggled to sit up, fighting against the lassitude that had infused her body. “Tell me that when you’re not working two jobs anymore, we’ll take more time for each other?” She didn’t hide the note of pleading that colored the words.
He pulled her into his lap and they both just ignored the hard length under her ass as they took time for comfort. “I promise you, darlin’. We’re going to have all the time in the world. That’s why we’re doing this right?”
“Yes. It’s just … sometimes I worry.”
“About what, Charlie?” He lifted her chin with two fingers to look down into her eyes.
“That this is the new normal, I guess? That we’ve just reached a point where everything becomes routine and—I don’t know. You hear couples complain about the magic dying after a while. I’ve been scared that’s what was happening here and—” She cut herself off.
These were things she hadn’t wanted to say but had been feeling deep inside. She wondered if she should continue because heartfelt emotions were probably going to ruin the light mood. “It’s just you keep saying things will get back to normal when you have more time and I’ve been wondering if maybe thisisthe new normal.”
Sam was silent for a few minutes, and she waited as he put his thoughts together. “When relationships are new, they’re filled with excitement and frantic energy because everything is unexplored, an adventure. It’s kind of like a frenzy to learn as much as you can as quickly as you can. After a while that does subside—but it’s not a bad thing.”
“When the excitement lessens it means you’ve reached a point where you have a better idea of who your partner is. Some of it is replaced with stability and a real relationship and that can only come from a deeper understanding of each other. But the excitement doesn’t have to die or vanish, Charlie. It just backs off a little bit to make room for other things.”
She listened and took a minute to think about what he was saying. Sam was good at getting to the heart of things and resolving her concerns—once she could get up the nerve to actually put them out on the table.
