Eventually the two women drifted to different parts of the club and Nick went off to keep his eye on Katie. Sam sat where he was a little longer.

There was no planned moment to surprise her. He figured he’d know when the right time appeared and when Charlie became completely enraptured with a spanking scene taking place… he realized that was the moment.

The couple was so deep in their scene that they’d tuned out the world. They seemed completely unaware of their audience, and Charlie hung on their every movement.

Sam moved up behind her and invited her to play. He expected her to recognize his voice immediately, but she was distracted. It wasn’t until she turned around that she realized it was him.

Her eyes widened and she froze like a deer in the headlights. She didn’t say a word as he led her to the quiet corner he’d claimed earlier. He’d left his coat draped there and luckily no one had taken the spot while he’d gone to retrieve her.

He made no effort to hide his amusement at the way she gaped at him. The short quick breaths and the way her fingers fiddled with the hem of her dress were signs that she knew she was in big trouble. He was willing to bet her panties were soaked too.

Being in trouble often turned her on, at least in the beginning. It didn’t tend to last once the punishment started. Of course, that did depend on what the punishment was.

Sam had been thinking all week about how he was going to deal with this little adventure, and he had a feeling she was going to hate it. Before he could really begin to deal with her, Katie arrived.

She didn’t even notice him; she was too intent on grabbing Charlie for a demonstration. To be fair, even though Katie lived on the ranch now, he’d only come into contact with her a few times. It was no surprise that she hadn’t recognized him out of his element.

He enjoyed getting her attention and it was amusing that she tried to go defiant on him. He wasn’t her Dom, and he wasn’t going to act like he had any authority over her, but he knew something she didn’t—Nick wouldn’t be far behind.

He told her to sit next to Charlie and then he just waited while she sulked and then tried to convince him she was allowed to be there. That had him on the verge of laughing, but sure enough Nick was headed right towards them.

Once Nick arrived Katie closed her mouth and dropped the pouting. Suddenly she was being well behaved.

I wonder why that is. He didn’t make the sarcastic comment out loud, though he was tempted.

Sam grinned at Nick and waved a hand towards the couch. “So, Katie was just telling me that she’s allowed to be here. She seems mad that I told her to sit down too—so I’m sorry if I infringed on your prerogatives, Nick. I just didn’t want her to run off before you got here.”

Nick gave Katie a hard look and the woman wilted a little. He kept his eyes on her, as though pinning her in place, but his next words were directed at Sam. “No worries, Sam. If you catch her acting out of line you havemypermission to set her down or stick her in a corner until I can get there.”

Sam hadn’t expected that. The panicky look Charlie shot his way made it plain she was worried he was going to reciprocate too. He didn’t. Charlie needed different handling, so he just nodded, “I’ll do that, Nick.”

“That’s not fair,” Katie blurted.

“Girl, you can just hush up about fair. You’re in big trouble. Lying, sneaking around, coming to a club without asking—I can’t even count the ways you stepped in it tonight,” Nick informed her.

“Wetoldyou we were having a girl’s night out in the city. We’re girls! We’re out! That’s not lying,” she protested.

Charlie was staring at Katie like she was nuts for even trying that tact. She herself just remained quiet as if afraid to attract Sam’s attention.

He couldn’t blame her on that.

“So … was there some reason you two felt you needed to keep this a secret?” Sam asked.

Nick snorted, “Katie knows I would have said no. I don’t like her going out to places like this alone. We’ve talked about it before. Haven’t we, Katie?”

Katie mumbled something low.

“You want to repeat that so we can hear?” he asked, adding some sharpness into the question.

His wife sighed. “I just said it’s not fair. It’s safe enough and it’s fun to watch.”

Nick shook his head, sighing. “Most of them are safe enough inside, sure. They’ve got rules and monitors and usually things are fine—inside. You might have noticed this place isn’t in the best part of town. Most of them aren’t.”

“You said not to go alone anymore. I didn’t. Charlie came with me,” she said as she pointed to her left.

Charlie jerked and her head snapped up. It was clear she didn’t like being mentioned, or even remembered, and Sam held back a laugh. “Well, Charlie, you don’t have any rules about going to clubs, so why didyoukeep it a secret?” Sam asked her.

She sent a skittish look in Katie’s direction. “I—just… figured it would be fine?” There was uncertainty in her tone. Probably because she knew it was a lie.
