She fidgeted and stole a glance at Logan. He doesn't look at her in disgust. Maybe she had put on enough perfume. She damn near used a whole bottle as she sprayed every inch of her skin.
She softly sniffed her shoulder to be sure. She still smelled like roses. She still felt slightly dry in the outfit.
Silence had dripped over the atmosphere to the point it was almost awkward. It was too soon to ask about the event but too late to ask about anything else. Gretchen stole another glance at Logan and loved how the tuxedo looked on him. He looked like he was made to wear that suit. Just looking at him, she knew girls went wet in their panties for him after all, she was wet for him.
She softly sighed and looked away. He was sinfully handsome, and he probably didn't even know it. She wondered how many women stopped to stare at him as she had.
As they pulled up to the event, Gretchen was shocked at all the cameras and the people that lined the road.
"You will need to follow my lead." He spoke up as he turned towards her. "Can you promise to do that?
She looked at him a little confused, "I don't understand."
Logan looked at her and brought his piercing blue eyes up at her. She froze as he gave her a serious expression, "Gretchen, I need you to promise to follow my lead no matter what. If anything happens, you will do exactly what I say. You will always at all times think about yourself in case of an emergency."
She didn't understand where this was coming from. They were having an event. Sure sometimes they could get dangerous, but they had security. The way he was speaking, it was almost as if he expected things to go wrong. The thought sent a chill down her spine.
"What is this about, Logan? What are you so worried about?"
"Gretchen, just promise me."
She wanted to press him for more, but the car had stopped. They had to get out, and she couldn't hold him up. So she took a deep breath in and gave him a nod, "I understand."
"Say it." He scowled at her.
She sighed as she felt like a child. "I will do what you say and think about my own wellbeing."
Logan opened the door and hopped out. Gretchen could only wonder what he was worried about. Was something going to happen at the party? What was she supposed to do if something did? Could she really just ignore him and leave him alone?
Logan held a hand out, and she grabbed it as she got out after him. He hooked her arm with his, and they headed up to enter the venue. Cameras flashed, and people were yelling. She was grateful to have his arm to hold onto, and also grateful she could touch him without it being weird. She held her breath, she didn’t want to screw this up.
Eleven
Logan
Logan liked having her arm tucked close to him. He's never had her so close before. He has avoided it at all costs, and he now knows why.
Gretchen smelled fabulous. Like she had dripped herself in a bed of flowers and wrapped herself in rose petals. Her hand was gentle against his skin, and it was hard for him to behave himself. Just walking with her was a challenge. His inner dragon so severely wanted out, and with every whiff of her scent, it grew harder. As was his cock.
He tried to keep a stern expression, he didn’t want to show any emotions on his face. He certainly didn't want her to know that he was having a hard time containing his emotions.
As they entered the venue, all eyes turned to them. Cameras clicked from behind them, and a few were still in front of them. People were whispering as they walked, and everyone stared.
Gretchen spoke up in a whisper, "So, you do turn people's heads. All the girls are looking at you. They must find you very attractive." She said it with a hint of humor.
He glanced at her and gave her a slight chuckle. "Only when there is a lovely gal in my arms. Besides, you have eyes on you as well. I see the way the guys are looking at you."
She chuckled as they walked, "I'm finding that hard to believe."
Logan looked at her, "Have you seen yourself? Men will be ready to jump at your door the way you look in that dress." Gretchen blushed a deep red.
Logan wished he was joking. There were several guys that were eyeing her up like a meal ready to devour her. The thought made him jealous and angry. He didn't want a damn person putting a finger on Gretchen. He may not have marked her, but that didn't mean someone else got her.
He looked around and wondered if there was a corner he could hide her in, maybe have her sit and drink a glass to herself. But, as soon as he thought about it, he knew it would never work.
The whole point of this was mingling and seeing who had money to put down on projects. The most powerful and wealthy people attended this event, and he couldn't have Gretchen sitting in a corner. It wouldn't look good for them in the end.
A few people waved at them, and Gretchen grew stiff in his arms. He leaned closer to her, "Relax." He whispered softly, "Everything will be fine. Just follow after me."
