Jessica reached for the price tag and scowled, "It's expensive enough that he doesn't want you to know the price of it."
Gretchen scowled, "No one would want to know the price of this."
Jessica smirked, "I'll look it up."
"NO!" Gretchen yelled, "Just stop. Please." Gretchen wanted to think her boss had feelings for her, but she knew it wouldn't happen. She had learned to keep it hidden. She didn't want to ever have someone find out.
"I got to get ready." I shut the box, "And no looking up the price."
Gretchen's phone rang shortly after. She rushed towards it as she saw it was Logan. "Morning, boss."
"Morning, I'm just calling to let you know don't bother coming in today. Get ready for the event."
She scowled, "Are you sure? I had some paperwork."
"Yes, someone will be by to pick you up in an hour to go to the spa. You will spend the entire day relaxing."
Gretchen didn't even get to ask questions before he hung up.
An hour later, like clockwork, the doorbell rang. She rushed to answer the door, and a chauffeur smiled at her. She was rushed off to the salon and pampered like a queen. She was having a hard time convincing her heart that her boss didn't like her romantically the entire time.
Did he have a thing for her, or was he just trying to make sure she looked her best for the event?

Logan
He sat and waited in the car, his knee bounced as he tried to keep his nervousness under control. It was growing hard to do with everything going on.
He had doubled the security, but the thought of a mole was only making it harder for him to trust people. He didn't know what to do, but he did know he needed to keep her safe. She didn't need him fucking up her life because he couldn't control himself when they were together.
He sighed. He hated that his life decisions could cause her harm. He tried to keep her at arm's length, but somehow they still were able to find out.
He looked at his watch, seeing it two minutes to seven. He took a deep breath in and looked back up towards her door. He didn't think it would be so hard to sit and wait.
He wondered if the outfit fit, and if it was a good choice. He had spent a lot on it, far more than he ever spent on one of his outfits. He tried not to think about it being a silent way to tell her he liked her.
He froze as the door opened, and she walked out in the gown. He was blown away by how hot she was looking in it. She had curled her hair, letting it fall loosely around her. She had put on some gentle makeup, and the color of the dress gave her a nice glow. The fabric slipped onto her like a glove, and the jewelry was sparkling in the moonlight.
Logan groaned. He hated that he so badly just wanted to strip her bare and have his way with her. At the same time, he wanted to hide her in his house and be the only person to see her as she looked at this moment. His body was telling him to have her. He knew he was an idiot not to mark his mate. He was fighting every nerve in his body not to move his ass off the cushion of the seat and tell her he wanted her.
Logan took another deep breath. He had to protect her, and if that meant he ignored his own needs, then so be it.
She stopped in front of the car, and Logan hopped out. He gave her a smile, but he didn't know what to say. So they stood and stared at each other.
She swallowed as she ran a hand over the dress. Hi."
Logan cleared his throat, his voice came out husky and raw. "Hello, you look beautiful tonight."
She blushed, "Thank you. You look very handsome tonight."
Logan pulled the door open and allowed her to get in. As she did, he got a full view of her as she bent over. Gretchen's ass was aimed at Logan. He internally screamed and begged anyone just to save him. He didn't know if he was going to be able to survive the night at this rate. He was going to need a cold shower or two by the end of the event.

Gretchen
Gretchen sat nervous, and prayed to God she doesn’t sweat through the outfit. She frowns and began to worry if she's started to stink? Does she stink?
