“Yes,” she says hoarsely before she moves her hands from my ass to the back of my head to deepen the kiss even more, mingling our tongues as much as possible.

I curse the fact that her shirt is too tight for me to fit my head under to take her nipple in my mouth. My impatience causes me to start to break our kiss and start to lift the shirt over her head.

Sandy pushes me away and jumps off the island. It’s only when I hear laughter coming from behind the door that I understand why she pushed me away. Without saying a word, or giving me another look, she walks back to the living room towards the rest of the group. I remain behind the island, waiting for my hard on to go down.

I turn my back when JD walks into the kitchen carrying two beers. He walks over and comes to stand in front of me, offering me a beer. He doesn’t say a word but arches an eyebrow instead. I snatch the beer from him a little too forcefully.

“Are you coming? Or did you already?”

“Fuck off.”

“Jacob Clark, I do declare,” he says in a mock southern accent as he puts his hand over his heart. “I never thought I’d see the day. Dee’s out there looking guilty as sin, and your ass is in here hiding.”

“I’m not hiding, you prick. I’m waiting for my dick to go down.”

“Man, please. There isn’t enough therapy in the world for me to get that visual out of my head. Diana and Ebony are saying goodbye.” I know that means Sandy is going to use this as an excuse to kick us out. I take a long swig of the beer before handing the bottle back to JD.

JD follows me as I walk back to the living room, and with a bravado I don’t feel, I grab Sandy’s hand and pull her away from the group and walk back to the kitchen, straight out the patio door and close the sliding door behind us.

“What the hell, you Neanderthal?”

I shut her up with my mouth. She immediately melts in my arms, and her complaints are temporarily silenced. She kisses me back with fervor, sucking on my tongue as she runs both hands through my hair, down my neck, finally landing on my chest.

“Your chest. Oh my god.” She deepens the kiss again, but only briefly. She pushes me away and takes several steps back, wrapping her arms around herself. “Jerk.”

”You hate that you’re attracted to this jerk.” She sucks her teeth before turning her back to me, but I’m undeterred as I stand behind her, putting both hands on her hips. She leans into me, her snug ass on my hardened dick and her back on my chest.

“I’ll pick you up tomorrow. Take you to my house and make you dinner.” I spin her around, grab her chin and tilt her head so that she can look at me.

“I don’t think so. Let’s just leave things as they are.”

“You want me to stay like this?” I grab her hand and grind my dick into it.

“You know what I mean.” She doesn’t immediately move her hand away. It’s not until she realizes that she’s cupped my dick through my pants that she quickly moves her hand away.

“Why not?”

“Because we don’t make sense. And because you’re kind of a pain in the ass.”

“I want to explain things, and you already agreed weeks ago. At least give me the chance to apologize.” I grab both of her hands and kiss them before kissing the side of her neck and her ear.

“God, let me think!” she says, but she doesn’t push me away. “Okay, but not at your house. Somewhere public. I’ll meet you there.”

“Don’t trust yourself to be alone with me?” I grin at her shocked expression.

“Get over yourself. And I can’t go out with you tomorrow. I’m busy. Sunday. Five o’clock. I’ll give you my number and you can text me the location.”

“Five o’clock? Are we senior citizens?”

“I have to be at work at seven on Monday.”

“Sure, you do. You just want more time with me.” She lets out a loud huff and starts to walk back inside. “And you don’t have to give me your number. Your sister already did.”

CHAPTER 7

SANDY

“It’s just an apology, not a date. I would not date him. I couldn’t.” I prove my point as I rummage through my closet and pull out the most boring, blue button down shirt. Without missing a beat, Tash snatches the shirt from my hand and tosses it aside. She pulls out a light pink top instead.
