Careful not to jostle her too much, Iscooted us down the bed to our sides, so that she lay wrapped in myarms with her head against my chest. I ran my hand through her hairfor a bit, my thoughts rolling around like they were charged up ona slew of narcotics. It was asking a lot of her, but I hoped shecould be satisfied with what I could offer. But I really wished Ihad it in me to offer her more. She deserved more. She deserved itall.

The next morning, Sage stirred in myarms. “Oh my gosh.”

Popping my eyes open, I blinked downat her. “Is everything okay?” Then I smirked when I caught herblush and the way she was bouncing her stare between our two nakedbodies. “You fell asleep before we could get dressed. It’s no bigdeal. It actually feels really good.”

“It’s a little too intimateis what it is.” Grumbling under her breath, she untangled herselffrom my arms and stomped into the bathroom. A few moments later,the shower switched on.

Allowing her grouse to tumble about inmy head for a few moments, I released a huge sigh. I didn’t knowhow to fix the problem; only that I would do everything in my powerto make sure I made up for my short comings. Then I slid off of thebed and tugged on a pair of black sweat pants before heading out tothe kitchen to pull out fixings for breakfast.

Grayson stood at the bar sipping a cupof coffee. Pointing at my bedhead, he smirked. But then hisexpression grew serious. “I hope you know what you’re doing. She’snot like the other girls.”

“We talked lastnight.”

“Among other things.”Raising his brow at me, he lifted his hand to stop me. “I’m notgoing to lecture. I’d just hate to see this whole thing blow up inyour face.”

“She’s pregnant and we’regoing to work things out. It will be fine.” I blurted for someunknown reason.

Grayson jerked back like I’d shovedhim before setting down his mug. “Okay, wow, one thing I did notsee coming. Well, I’m happy for you two. But you love her. So whydon’t you just tell her so? It would make things easier on the bothof you, especially now. Don’t push her away. Her hormones have tobe in overdrive and this is not a stress she needs right now.Especially since you’re being ridiculous about this.”

“I can’t love anyone everagain. Jensen not only betrayed me she almost cost me one of mybrothers. I can’t let anyone in here again.” I thumped my fist tomy chest. “It’s not possible.”

Grayson stepped into my face. “You.Love. Her. Everything you’ve done to her and for her has shown thatyou love her. You just haven’t said the words because you refuse tobelieve them. You believe you can’t offer her it. Well guess what?You are; you just refuse to say the words. But let me clue you inon a little secret; not saying the words doesn’t make it not true.And besides, actions speak louder than words, Bro, and you’reyelling them at her.”

Backing away from him so I didn’tpunch him in the face, I ripped open the refrigerator door, grabbedingredients, and then slammed them onto the counter. “You’re fullof shit and have no idea what you are talking about.”

“I know more than you thinkI do. And I’m not trying to start a fight with you. But you need toreally think about what you are doing and not admitting. I’mguessing she’s in the shower so we don’t have a lot of time beforeshe joins us and I don’t want to add tension to thissituation.”

“Then why are you pokingyour nose into something that is not your business and stirring upshit?” Clenching my fists at my side, I took in some steadyingbreaths. I didn’t want to fight with him and I definitely didn’twant to do it in front of Sage, but there was no way he had a clue.It wasn’t possible. Or was I really that delusional?

Grayson grabbed a skillet and began toscramble eggs. “That first night; I heard her screams from hernightmare.”

Wait. What? “How did you know it was anightmare?” I swung my gaze to him.

“You were so focused on heryou didn’t even realize I had slid your door open a bit to makesure we didn’t have trouble in our place and you needed back up. Ididn’t watch long, but just enough to see you with her when youdidn’t think anyone else was around to witness your actions. Don’tlet Jensen win. We didn’t let her win that night; don’t let her winnow.” He focused his attention back on the eggs.

Fuck. He still didn’t know what thehell he was talking about.

Sage padded out to thekitchen, her hair damp and hanging in long waves, wearing a pair ofpink shorts and a gray and pink striped tank top that showed offher beautiful breasts. But the sexiest part; she was wearing myvest. I barely suppressed my growl of approval. Whichonlymeant I found herbody hot.

“I’m going to grab ashower. Can you help Grayson finish breakfast? I want to take youto the shooting range today. I want to make sure you learn how toprotect yourself sooner rather than later.”

“Oh wow. Do you need areservation for something like that or do you even have a gun forme to use? Wow. I know we had talked about it but . . .” She ran ahand through her hair. “Yeah, I can help makebreakfast.”

Her adorable ramblings always broughta smile to my face. “We actually have a Ruger 380 you can have. Itis really small and will work perfectly for you. I’m glad the girlshad enough foresight to have you buy a purse. You can carry it inthere. And we have a shooting range behind our club. Don’t benervous.” Before I could stop myself, I walked up to her and pulledher into my arms.

Grayson eyed her vest and my embraceand gave me an ‘I told you so’ smirk that I wanted to punch off ofhis smug face. He didn’t know anything.

“We have all day to work onit. Our meeting with the Pyro Devils was moved to tomorrow night sowe don’t need to be back for anything. I had meant to mention thisto you yesterday, but we had other things pop up we had to dealwith. Um, I told Grayson about finding out you are pregnant. I hopethat’s okay.”

She stiffened in my arms brieflybefore her body relaxed again into my embrace. “That’s fine. I meanwe are planning to start telling a few people. It wouldn’t be rightto keep things from him. And he’s going to be an honoraryuncle.”

“I hadn’t thought of that.Well, fuck; I like the sounds of that. Well, congratulations youtwo. I know you’ll figure things out.” Grayson met my gaze aboveSage’s head and gave me a serious look.

I flipped him off behind Sage’s backbefore heading back to my bathroom. Fucking Grayson didn’t knowwhat the hell he was talking about. After I showered, I joinedGrayson and Sage for breakfast. Thankfully the conversation focusedon simple things like Sage starting her job tomorrow – she seemedreally excited about that – and reassuring her that it wasn’t goingto be difficult for her to learn how to fire a weapon.

“If you see Misti or Angelat the club today would you make sure they plan to be theretomorrow night? I want at least one of them to be there so thatSage doesn’t have to deal with the cunts on her own.”

“Will do. You two have fun.Go turn our girl into a gun wielding bad ass.” Grayson smirked atSage as he walked out to the garage.
