“Thatwas your kiss?”

Both Brody and Sarah looked to where Logan, who stood next to Faith and the photographer, was laughing, as if he’d just seen the funniest thing ever. Which maybe he had. Because Sarah didn’t need to see the photo to know that it was probably the worstjust marriedkiss in history. Pretend or otherwise.

She looked to Brody, and for a second, contemplated a do-over because she was sure they could do better. Hell, sheknewthey could do better. But before she could even let herself fully entertain the thought, Brody laughed.

He laughed.

She took a step to the side, away from him as Faith and Logan approached them.

“Okay,” Faith started. “I know this might be a little awkward, because it’s a photo shoot and all.” She looked between them and smiled. “Butitissupposed to look like a real wedding. Complete with all the feels and emotions and…well, all of it. Do you get what I’m saying?”

Brody nodded, but Sarah shook her head. “I don’t—”

“What she’s trying to say is that the kiss needs to have passion,” Logan interrupted. “Feeling and conviction. You need to look like you’re actually really in to the other person. Like their very existence is what keeps you going.” Sarah fought the urge to roll her eyes, but Logan was just getting started. “You need to sell people on the idea of love and passion. Your kiss needs to have heat. It needs to…here. Let me show you.”

Before anyone could react, least of all Faith, Logan had wrapped his arms around her, pulled her close, and was kissing her with enough heat to make all of them blush.

ChapterFourteen

She should push him off.

She should slap him across the face.

She should do a lot of things, but all Faith wanted to do was kiss him back. And that’s exactly what she did.

For the moment, it didn’t matter that they were in the middle of a professional photo shoot, or that Brody and Sarah stood a few feet away from them, no doubt as shocked as she was. Okay, maybe not as much as she was.

Nothing mattered except for the feel of Logan’s lips on hers, his hands on her, and every single sensation that he’d ignited within her body. Vaguely, she heard a moan, and realized that it had come from her. But still, she didn’t care.

She leaned into the kiss. Her own hands came to wrap around him.

There were so many reasons she shouldn’t be letting the kiss happen.. But still, Faith couldn’t make herself pull away from Logan. Instead, she deepened the kiss and pressed herself closer.

And then, just as abruptly as it had started, it was over.

“And that,” she heard Logan say, “is how it’s done.”

Her fingers fluttered to her lips as Faith came to the realization of what had just happened. It wasn’t the first time they’d shared a kiss. The last time being in the middle of an event they were hosting. Also, not professional. But this…this was next level. And entirely inappropriate. She glared at Logan and worked hard not to slap him across the face. There’d been enough lack of professionalism for one day.

Instead of saying all the things she really wanted to say, Faith looked to Sarah and Brody. Something was going on between the two of them, that much was certain. Despite the fact that Sarah insisted they were only friends, it didn’t take a genius to see the way they looked at each other.

Usually.

Today was different.

Of course, they’d had that big blow-up at the beach the weekend before…With a sigh, Faith jumped in. “Okay, enough. What’s going on between the two of you?”

They each looked to the other and shrugged.

“Look,” Faith continued. “I get that you’re upset with him for what happened on Sunday.” Sarah turned a bright shade of pink while she was talking, but didn’t say anything to argue the point. “But you need to get over it. At least for the next hour or so, please. Can you just pretend to be desperately, hopelessly in love?”

Brody nodded and the faintest trace of a smile crossed his face. “Oh, I think I can handle that, no problem.” He looked to Sarah, but she was determinedly looking straight ahead, so Faith focused on her.

“Sarah?” she prompted. “Canyoudo that? For me? For a hour? Pretend that Brody is the love of your life and you can’t live without him. And then you can go back to being…” She fluttered her hand around. “Whatever it is that you’re doing.”

She waited a beat and finally her friend nodded. “Of course,” Sarah muttered. “I’m sorry. I’ll try harder.”

“Thank you.” She looked to Dan Drummond, the photographer she’d hired, who was looking vaguely amused, and Faith couldn’t be sure whether it was the scene that was currently playing out before him, or the one from a moment before that he found so amusing. Not that it mattered. She’d gotten a great deal on the shoot because she’d agreed to let him use a few pictures and do a feature on weddings for an online article onWeddings Weekly. She’d hadn’t been totally worried about the details. He was a good photographer and it was a good price. So, if Dan was entertained by whatever was going on here, she didn’t care. She had a job to do. “Let’s do this.” She waved her clipboard in the air. “It shouldn’t be that hard.”
