Her mouth hung open as the pleasure built inside her, and it was the sexiest thing he’d ever seen. He kissed her again, overwhelming her senses as he moved his fingers inside her, gently pulling them out to circle her throbbing clit before pressing them back inside. Her orgasm hit hard as she came undone around his hand, moaning out her release into his kiss.
Fuck. There was no way once was going to be enough with her. Ever.
He waited a few seconds for her to regain her senses. She stood against the wall, panting for breath, her eyes still closed as Logan quickly shed himself of his jeans and shimmied her shorts down and over her hips. Her eyes opened and caught him watching her, nothing but appreciation on his face for what was the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on. The slight flush of her skin from her orgasm, the way her breasts heaved with every hot breath she took—everything about her was absolutely gorgeous.
He shook his head a little. “Dammit, Faith.”
“What? What is it?” Concern crossed her face and she moved to step away from the wall, but Logan put both of his hands on her hips to stop her.
“I need you, Faith. I need you so badly.”
Easily, Logan picked her up.
She smiled at his words and licked her bottom lip a little as she wrapped her legs around him in response.
He knew he should walk her a few steps over to the bed, but he was pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to make it. He needed her with every fiber of his being.
Logan lifted her hips a little and slid his length into her, taking her hard against the wall. He held himself, his eyes closed, enjoying every sensation that washed over him.
But not for long. Because he hadn’t been lying when he said how badly he needed her. She groaned and he moved, pulling back just to enter her again. And again.
Their lovemaking was hot and hard, and when finally, Logan’s own climax started to build, he felt her begin to shake with another of her own. They crested together, screaming out their release.
When he finally regained his senses long enough, Logan carried her, still wrapped around him, to the bed, where he pulled her close and wrapped his body around her.
Faith fell into a deep sleep almost at once, her breath coming slow and even, but Logan was no longer tired. He stroked her hair and let his hands slide over her body, memorizing every curve. Being with Faith had been more than he’d ever imagined, and that scared the hell out of him. Because now that he’d had her, he wasn’t ever going to want to let her go.
ChapterSeven
Stephanie readthe headline on the gossip site again.
“Dax Combs stepping out?”
It didn’t matter how many times she read it; the words still blurred in front of her and made her stomach roll.
Stepping out?
Dax wouldn’t cheat on her. No way. She had to trust him. Without trust, they had nothing. She knew that. The accompanying picture was one of him and his current costar Natalie Fear. They were simply standing close together, nothing more. There was nothing to indicate that he was cheating on her, or that the photo was anything more than a shot of the two of them on set together.
Still.
It left her unsettled. Particularly because they hadn’t been able to connect on the phone much lately. The time difference made it hard, and of course Dax’s demanding shooting schedule. They’d mostly stopped trying to get each other on a video call and had instead moved to sending each other lengthy text messages. The last time she’d actually spoken to him on the phone was the day before she’d made the trip to Glacier Falls, when she’d told him where she would be. He was the only one who thought her trip was a good idea. Especially because she was going alone and had turned down offers from her agents, assistant, and various other staff members to accompany her.
Dax had understood her desire to do it on her own. He understood how much she hated the fame at times. That was one of the things that helped them connect. Hegotit. Because he, too, had told her he would have traded in his entire career for a quieter lifestyle. They’d even discussed what that would look like. The two of them, retiring and settling somewhere where no one knew them, to build a life and raise a family.
It could look like living in Glacier Falls.
She’d only been in town a few days, but she was already totally in love. Faith and Logan had welcomed her so completely, and their friends too. No one treated her like she was different. Not one of them had asked anything from her. Except, of course, for the fact that she knew hosting her wedding would be a huge boost to Ever After Ranch. But never once had Stephanie felt as though that were the only reason Faith and Logan had befriended her.
For the first time since she was young, she felt as if she were a part of something.
Which was going to make it even harder to leave.
Reluctantly, she picked up her phone from the desk and saw she had four missed calls. One from her agent and three from her assistant, Terri.
There’d been a time when she’d actually thought of Terri as her closest friend. And although she was a really great assistant, that’s all she was. An assistant. Stephanie paid her to be her friend. The thought made her sad. Especially now that she’d spent some time with Faith and Sarah. That was true friendship.
She contemplated returning the calls, but the idea of it exhausted her. Terri would just want to know when she was coming home and no doubt, Brenda, her agent, would want an answer about the latest script she’d sent over. The one that was still in her bag because she hadn’t looked at it yet.
