“Remember,” Logan said. “It’s not our fault that Stephanie Starz thinks we’re madly in love. We never told her that.”

“Not yet.”

Logan didn’t respond and they both knew it was because it would only be a matter of hours before they did, in fact, lie to Hollywood’s biggest celebrity and tell her that they were in love and they’d found that love right there on Ever After Ranch. Just the way her twin sister and Levi had before them. And just the way the online wedding site,Weddings Weekly, had reported it. Complete with a picture of Faith and Logan in what could only be described as a very passionate kiss.

Because it had been.

The truth of the matter was that the photographer, who’d taken the picture during a professional photo shoot she’d hired him for, hadn’t mentioned at all that Logan had only been trying todemonstratehow a couple in love should kiss to their friends Sarah and Brody, who were the models of the shoot who happened to be in the middle of a giant argument at the time and were having trouble playing make-believe. No. None of the actual details had been mentioned. Only a completely fabricated story about how Ever After Ranch was the most romantic wedding venue around and how could it not be when both of the identical twin sister owners had found their very own happily ever after right there?

Faith had to admit, it had been brilliant free marketing. Even if it was based on a lie. And it never would have resulted in anything more if Stephanie Starz hadn’t contacted her to request a personal visit to the ranch to consider it for her very own, very much publicized nuptials.

“It’s an innocent little lie,” Logan said. “It’s not going to hurt anyone and, if anything, it will benefit everyone. The entire town of Glacier Falls will benefit from this wedding. It’s the biggest wedding of the—”

“Century,” she finished for him. “I know. But it’s still…”

“Don’t tell me you’re backing out of the bet?”

His eyes flashed with mischief because damn him, he knew she wasn’t going to back out of the bet. Which was exactly why she never should have agreed to it in the first place. Becausesheknew better.

Still. When Logan had bet her that she didn’t have it in her to act like a loved-up couple with him long enough to pull off the wedding of the century, she’d had no other choice but to accept it. Despite the terms. If she won, he’d back off on pursuing her and driving her crazy. And if he won…something about spending an entire night with him. She was trying not to think about that. For a variety of reasons.

The terms of the bet were suspect at best. Still, she hadn’t been able to say no. She never could when it came to Logan. Ever since they were in high school, he had an uncanny ability to drive her crazy and push all her buttons.

“Of course I’m not backing out.” She took a sip of her coffee and tried not to moan.Damn it. It was really good.

“Good.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Because I’m looking forward to winning.”

Faith shook her head and rolled her eyes. There was no point getting into it with him. Instead, she switched tacks. “About you moving in. It’s not—”

“Oh, it’s happening, Faith, and you know it.” Logan’s face lost its cocky grin and turned serious in a flash. “This has to look convincing. If Stephanie suspects that our love isn’t legit, she might pull the whole idea of having her wedding at Ever After before we even get the gig. And you know as well as I do that having this here will be huge.” He shook his head. “Bigger than huge. It will be—”

“Massive,” she agreed reluctantly. As much as she hated to admit it, Logan was right. And with Hope and Levi on their way home so Hope could stay on bed rest, the publicity from this event would be exactly what they needed to take build the business at Ever After Ranch. It was way beyond what Faith had been planning when she started to dream up a social media marketing campaign. This was next level. And it was important.

“Okay,” she said after a moment. “But you’re not staying in my room with me.”

“Where else am I going to sleep?”

“We have a spare bedroom.” Faith made a mental note to find a minute to clear out the boxes and things that had been stored in their spare room for who knows how long, but before she could say more about it, Logan was shaking his head.

“No can do. That’s going to be the baby’s room, and Levi already texted me about helping him out with getting it ready for Hope as a surprise.”

Levi and Logan were cousins and ever since Levi’s mother had died when he was younger, he’d been raised with Logan and his little sister on their ranch down the road. They were more like brothers than cousins, and it was no surprise that Logan would be called into duty to help Levi out. What was a surprise was this entire situation. And more and more, it looked as if Faith wasn’t going to win this particular argument.

She hated not winning the argument. Especially against Logan.

She took another sip of coffee and let the rich aroma fill her senses before putting her mug down and looking Logan in the eye. “Fine,” she said slowly. “But fresh coffee every morning when I wake up is part of the deal.”

“Of course.” A slow, sexy smile crossed his face. “Now you better go get ready because we have a celebrity to impress.”

ChapterTwo

Logan had never consideredhimself the type of guy who would ever be star struck. After all, celebrities were just regular people who happen to be famous. So he was in no way prepared for Stephanie Starz and the energy she projected the second she stepped out of her rented luxury SUV. She was shorter than she appeared on the screen, a petite, fiery, incredibly gorgeous redhead who, judging by the first few minutes of meeting her, was also a genuinely nice person. Her smile and bubbly personality made him instantly warm to her.

He could see that Faith was equally affected by the woman, who despite being the world’s biggest superstar, had arrived alone. Without any assistants, bodyguards, or any entourage at all, proclaiming that she was hoping to keep her visit as low-key and under the radar as possible.

Logan had no idea how they were going to accomplish that particular feat, considering that even if she wasn’t incredibly famous and recognizable, she was also absolutely gorgeous, and he knew of at least a few single men in town who would be tripping all over themselves just to say hello, celebrity or not.

But not him.
